You are 100% right. It’s so much slower than a competent, dedicated cashier. I’ve been a cashier when I was a kid and I still fucking struggle with the self check out. It won’t let you pick up an handful of small items (like protein bars) and swipe them all before placing them, it won’t let you swipe the same yogurt 5 times and then move its 4 twins to the bag. Even doing one item at a time, it can’t keep up if I get going at a good pace. And it gets confused for seemingly no reason, requiring intervention. And many places have a camera and monitor right in your face like I need to see a fucking mugshot of my 3am ice cream purchase.

And it isn’t deportation. Deportation is sending someone to another country, generally the one they originally came from and where they hopefully have citizenship. This is paying some completely unrelated country to imprison someone with no legal avenue for due process or release. The best description I can come up with is kidnapping and imprisonment abroad.

ETA: it’s been pointed out that Mr Garcia is originally from El Salvador so this isn’t one of the cases where we’re sending Venezuelans to an unrelated country. Ohio either is or has recently been a swing state. The rise of fascism is terrifying but people in Ohio should have plenty of options for improving the situation and fighting back. And in even the most conservative red states, many of cities are blue. Your best bet may be to move to a city in Ohio. If that’s too expensive, then I have some bad news for you about Oregon (and probably much of Canada). Rural Oregon can be pretty conservative and racist AF. Cool cities in Oregon aren’t cheap relative to Ohio suburbs and exurbs. Living in a fun neighborhood in Cleveland or Columbus, joining some Democratic or Leftist political organizations and taking more direct action with like minded people may help with the feelings of hopelessness and may actually have a positive impact.

But free advice from a random on the internet is worth what you pay for it 🤷. It’s easy for me to make suggestions from my left leaning coastal city. Ultimately you have to decide how to best protect yourself mentally and physically.

So unless you are also having allergies, you’re taking a medication that isn’t going to help and overpaying. Just get stand alone pseudoephedrine.

Claritin is not pseudoephedrine. And while both drugs are helpful, neither will magically make your sinuses 100% clear if you have a bad cold. And actually, IDK if Claritin will help at all with a cold since it is an antihistamine. The stuffy nose from a cold isn’t a histamine response, right?

Not OP but, yes. Circular needles are each connected on one end by a cable (or similar). They are typically used to make tubes without seams. Like how most socks are a continuous tube (except for the heel and toe). Most sweaters aren’t done on circular needles (although they can be). If you look at how most sweaters are constructed, you can see that the front and back are single blocks that are stitched together at the sides

I’m a US citizen and I agree with them 100%. A bunch of us tried to tell everyone that Trump was a fascist dumpster fire that would try to make himself king, trash the economy and violate everyone’s civil and human rights. Now he’s making outlandish and insulting demands of our allies, fucking up trade and markets (along with abusing the civil and human rights of some protesters, asylum seekers and random travelers, oh, and throwing Ukraine under the bus and encouraging a fucking measles outbreak). So yeah, I don’t want my house and retirement savings to go into the shitter if the country goes full Nazi and I have to flee with nothing. So maybe if some folks have to do without eggs and cheap imports for a while they just might maybe learn that we need to pull the US out of this tailspin before it’s too late.
