I’m new to the fediverse and still learning how things work here. I apologize if I break the rules or etiquette of communities and instances. Please don’t assume malice or disregard, I’ll try my best to be respectful but there’s like a lot to learn and keep track of.

I like Emacs, GNU, free knowledge (free as in freedom), Lisp/Scheme programming, and software (and hardware, and everything) that is designed for autonomy, licenses aren’t enough. I’m ditching Linux as soon as Hurd becomes viable as a daily driver.

  • I upvoted the comments disagreeing with you but couldn’t downvote yours because sometimes I feel the same way even though I don’t think that way. It’s so frustrating that people keep using those platforms. In my country I literally can’t ditch whatsapp because otherwise my family can’t reach me in an emergency. And when they get a new number they just assume I’m going to see it in their instagram post. How many times I only found out someone got a new number after asking who is the unknown number sending me instagram or tiktok links on whatsapp. Doesn’t matter how many times I explain, it just doesn’t fit in their minds the concept of someone not having an account on those platforms.

  • I watch it cuz I like superpowers and fantasy. I also like those “character X power scenes compilation” on youtube. It’s empty entertainment, if it was smart I probably wouldn’t like it. Sometimes you just need something dumb and visually stimulating to catch your attention for a while. I’ll also watch movies and shows if there’s a really hot guy in the cast or if there’s a lot of overacting. That movie with the alien soap bubble and the mutant bear screaming help is honestly one of my favorite movies of all time just for the visuals, I watch it from time to time but I can’t even remember the name. That’s how little I care about movies.

  • Hey I love The Office, but Parks & Rec just hits a lot harder for me. Maybe it’s because I live in a small town so we end up knowing everything that happens in the local government (and everything that happens in the town, really, there isn’t much to keep track of). The Office is funny to me because it feels absurd and exaggerated, but P&R is funnier because it’s just as ridiculous but feels way too realistic for comfort.

  • The word or string “ass” may be replaced by “butt”, resulting in “clbuttic” for “classic”, “clbuttroom” for “classroom”, “buttignment” for “assignment”, and “buttbuttinate” for “assassinate”.

This is seriously one of the funniest things I’ve ever read. Like gosh, I’d recommend everyone give that article a full read. I couldn’t even get mad at the stupidity. I’m bookmarking this to read again when I have a bad day.
