  • When this has happened in the past for a handful of episodes, I have allowed for some early discussion threads…but in this case I am going to have the bot stick to the official schedule. For one thing, these leaks don’t have any subs, so most of this community would be unable to participate. Also, this leak is a whole season rather than the drip-feed of 1-2 episodes that we have had in the past.

So, normal spoiler rules apply for this show and discussion threads will still be created according to the official release schedule.

  • I really wish desktop image viewers supported it better instead of the browser being one of the few pieces of software that render them. For web use though, they are hard to beat when it comes to file size, so I understand why they have been so widely used in the fediverse where instances basically run off donations.

  • I have been super busy (and on vacation) and fallen behind on a lot of things. I did want to make a post with a couple that I have managed to keep up with though:

The past couple chapters have been really good. They have focused only on our main couple and it’s been sweet as can be. Sometimes I feel like series like this one can get too distracted with all the interesting side characters it has, but the past few chapters have really brought the focus back in a satisfying way.

I have been reading this one for a long time and it has consistently been good. However, the past batch of chapters has been really good. If you have ever wanted to see how a manga couple deals with life throwing shit at them and trying to plan for life after school amidst it all, this is a good depiction of it. There are lots of chapters, but they are each only ~4-6 pages, so it goes quick.

I love how stupid and silly this series is. I was happy to read that ridiculous story about two girls that are infatuated with the same guy. However, it recently got pretty real and I have loved how it pivoted so seamlessly into serious feelings territory, but at the same time has kept its absurd sense of humor.

So, I just caught up with this series and it continues to impress. For being the author’s first non-H work, the story in this series has been great. There are some great storylines going on involving some great characters. Looking forward to more.

  • I was on vacation this past week, but managed to catch up on a few things and catch the premiere of a couple others:

    • Apothecary Diaries - Finished this season up and really liked it. I think I liked the first season better, but I would be hard pressed to point to a show that managed to pull off 48 episodes of as consistently good quality as this one. Looking forward to season 3 eventually.
    • Slime 300 - I caught up on this one and powered through the end of the season. It’s more of the same, just with some new moe characters. I had fun.
    • Rock is a Lady’s Modesty - I enjoyed the finale, but I kind of doubt this is getting another season. I will have to wait for the manga translations to catch the rest of the story.
    • Vending Machine Isekai - Boxxo is back and it picks up right where things left off. I wasn’t sure what to expect with a season two of this premise, but a three-story tall ice vending machine wasn’t it. This show remains as creative as ever.
    • Dan Da Dan - Speaking of picking up right where things left off… Good first episode back and remains as unhinged as ever. I never expected a Jennifer Lopez in Anaconda reference. I am pretty sure Dan Da Dan’s primary audience was probably born after that movie came out.
    • Silent Witch - Good first episode and better production quality than I was expecting (plus easily the best Villainess of the season). Looking forward to the change in setting from episode 2 onwards.
    • New Saga - I read the manga for this one and I think I am going to drop the anime. If you watched the premiere and thought that you have seen this story before, it’s likely that you have since the LNs came out over a decade ago when it might not have felt as derivative.

  • Now we are back in Saki’s POV. It’s great to see Kanon having fun and being social, but it is certainly a change for Saki. I think that it is an interesting idea to explore the dependence that builds up between somebody that takes on the role of a caretaker and the one being taken care of. Now that Saki isn’t needed as much by Kanon, how does their relationship change?

I can’t say I am a huge fan of Kanon’s mom pushing for them to be living apart…like, what’s the harm? Does she want Kanon to be more independent? If that is the case, it’s already happening (as Saki is finding out). In any case, I do agree that there is a big difference between being roommates and just living very close to one another.
