  • Unless you go once near a beach and a single grain of sand gets past the airtight bag the phone was in and the Totally-IP67-We-Swear phone chassis and is fucking destroys the screen from the inside, with a repair bill worthy of a new phone because “that kind of damage is not under warranty”.

Source : happened to one of my best friends. Fuck you with a folding dildo, Samsung.

  • What you’re looking for is a Marine Nationale-style NATO strap. I have a few of them from CNS Watchbands from Sweden, cheap and good quality. Not sure if they sell this exact color scheme though.

The one you showed seems to be from Zuludiver.

FWIW “true” MN watchbands are elastic. Not what you’re looking for but you might find more colorways.

That’s what I love about Ann Leckie’s Radch trilogy. Radchaai culture doesn’t care about gender, everyone is a “she”. All romance could technically be lesbian romance.

Also, subsequent novels introduce human civs outside the Radch with complex gender systems and relationships, and Radchaai are seen as arrogant pricks who keep misgendering people. Hilarity ensues.

Also very good modern space opera, highly recommend.

  • Seconded, I moved my gaming rig is on Bazzite and has been trouble free and maintenance free ever since.

I installed Bluefin on the laptop I gave my father, and it’s been happily running trouble-free every single day since August without a single intervention. And my father is the kind of man who can conjure up unknown bugs, weird failures and random crashes by simple hand contact.

  • Yeah ext4 works fine. It’s just a mounting point. You’re not recreating the home partition, just using it.

About the EFI partition, I’m pretty sure you just need GRUB on it, and it should detect everything just fine. But I never triple booted so there’s that.

About /var, it’s because it’s fully writable. Dunno why they didn’t just make /home writable too.
