  • I don’t know. I haven’t faced a similar situation.

    But considering the law doesn’t mean anything to this increasingly totalitarian regime, if my kids’ lives were at risk, I would analyze this scenario:

    Moving to the closest country that speaks my language, has school grade equivalencies, and a similar culture so that the whole ordeal is less traumatic for my family.

    I would rent my house and try to store the properties that we wouldn’t want to take with us in a safe place, and sell the ones my family won’t need.

    I would seek remote work opportunities in my country so that returning home (when safe) results in an easy enough transition.

    This reality won’t change for the better until those in power get replaced by candidates that value democracy, the law and human rights and put in place safeguards so that this can’t happen again.
