Do you have a kobo? I’m wondering how much people enjoy reading with them. I’ve got an older Kindle that I was able to jailbreak, but I was looking for something a little simpler to maintain.

I’ll post my story about fixing a router here since I’ve been struggling with it for the past two weeks. After much troubleshooting with my ISP, testing with a whole other computer that somehow managed to get a gigabit link I was confused at why my router was not getting a gigabit link from the wan. What ended up being the problem was a poor termination on one of the ethernet ports in the wall. If I had been able to think about it without stressing about the limited time to work on it, I would’ve realized that yeah that made sense because when I went straight from the ISP box into another computer I was able to get the giga bit link. Either way I re-terminated a good bit of my cabling and now I get a great link on my router. Here’s to 500 Mb per second in a 200 person town.
One thing that I do, though it may not be as secure as a reverse proxy is just using tailscale funnel to expose my jellyfin instance.
I’d like to learn a self-hosted SSO but time is my least abundant resource at the moment.
I don’t have the quantitative metrics, but I will say that I had the flu last year and I just laid on the couch with my steam deck and streamed cyberpunk using Moonlight. The latency was imperceptible to my flu brain, and it was a much better experience than playing for an hour at a much lower quality natively on the deck. I have a friend who also streams his desktop to his Apple TV (hardwired desktop, wireless Apple TV) and he beat metal gear solid V like that.
This update is amazing. Everything that I could think of seems to be overhauled. I don’t have time anymore to work on extra things like this so I’m eternally grateful for the work you put in to this essential (to me and the kids, at least) application.
I’m doing a very similar thing with an old Dell thin client. I did inherit a large server from a company that was upgrading, but I’ve been thinking about downsizing a lot lately so now I use a few small computers on a 10 inch rack.
the best server is one that you already have

Another thing I noticed was one of the very last scenes where they were re-printing a new Mark Ruffalo. I wondered if that was supposed to be some kind of big different ending, but turned out to just be Mickey having fantasize the whole thing. I thought they were gonna show that the thing that they were demonizing they were doing the entire time.
It’s probably shameful for me to mention it, but I don’t think that I have seen Endgame more than the single time I saw it in theaters. It’s two very long movies to keep up with and then there’s so much going on that I’m not able to focus on a single character. I think that’s one reason that I’ve really enjoyed Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Stakes are much lower and there’s several characters, but they are manageable to keep track of because most of them are just normal supporting characters and not main characters in other movies about them.
As someone that aggressively takes advantage of the prime gaming giveaways, heroic launcher has been nearly perfect for all the random games that I’ve received on epic/amazon/gog.
I hate how good bazzite is at just being a game console. But then there’s lots of little Fedora ublue things in there that are useful. Like the fact that it has podman by default makes running silly things like ollama so easy.
Roku TV has been unbearable lately. There’s a whole row of ads before I even get to the physical inputs on the TV. Plus there is a full height ad on the right and a half height ad on the left.
I think they mean no ads in the UI. There are still ads in the YouTube app since Google needs that revenue. Ads don’t take up approximately 50% of the home screen though like they do on a Roku TV.
I got doom eternal a month or so ago and haven’t gotten around to playing it. Now that I’ve tried it I realized that there’s a mandatory Bethesda account creation screen unless you don’t have an Internet connection. I’ve been turning the Wi-Fi off on my Steam Deck or pulling the ethernet on my desktop to get by that.
