I help our customers make their business processes less stupid, time consuming and riddled with errors. Practically speaking it means I go to meetings, documentation process changes, build out business process automations, and attempt to convince an unwilling workforce that no, 17 spreadsheets is not the only or best way to run a business (change management).

I went to college and lived in dorms - and had to pay an increasing portion of my expenses until I was paying all of them. The result was working 2 jobs and attending school full time. When I graduated during the .com bust, I sent 300 resumes out and finally landed a job that paid me enough to live without 7 roommates. So, in my case, the trick was having at least 1 job that could pay my expenses.

This is insane. We have a housing shortage already and I suspect we’ll see AI impact hiring in the next decade. Couple those with the fact that, despite Trump’s best effort, there are still people willing to move here, and we don’t need to encourage birthrates. We need education, housing and immigration policies grounded in reality and positioning the US for the next 100 years.
