With all of these animals being smarter and more aware than we thought, there are fewer and fewer places to safely crank it.

This was in California. My American history teacher was a confederate defender. Marked it partial credit to say the Civil War was fought over slavery. Full credit for the answer “states rights.” Fully wrong when I said “states rights for its citizens to own people like property.” His ignorance was astounding even to my 17 year old self. When I recognized the joke I was dealing with, I treated the class like a joke.
Mr. Angle, I remember you and your bullshit.
There were a few emails from people asking epstein for some of his jerky. Annoyed replies saying that the supply of jerky given them should have lasted longer. Then an email from Maxwell saying something to the effect of “there will be no more jerky for a while, Mr. Epstein has decided to return to normal food.”
I do not know in what other context that could have possibly been other than cannibalism.

Europe@feddit.org•UK Police condemn calls for ‘vigilante justice’ over murder of Henry NowakEnglish
101·4 days agoMaybe that’s because they know they are also at fault. Yes, he was stabbed by someone, but the police themselves are likely the reason this guy is dead. He came to them dying, and they kneeled on his neck and handcuffed him. Vigilante justice would not only target the stabber.
Civility is what is gained. I work for you, I drive up your net value and I promise not to firebomb your property. In return you give me enough money to survive. They’re not holding up their end of the bargain…

9·7 days agoHow much fun would it have been if instead of canceling, they just didn’t show up? Great big advertising schemes, tons of hype, and then a great big silence. Legal retaliation is probably the big reason why they’re being upfront about it, but I would pay to see Trump getting stood up and embarrassed in the moment instead of having time to re-plan.

I only hold grudges against myself. I got called fat in school, can’t remember faces or names. Said something dumb, it’s burned into my psyche in 8k.
In my experience, ADHD is responsible for masking ASD behaviors. Am I making enough eye contact? Too much information, need to look away. Am I engaging my face enough? Are my expressions in line with the information I’m hearing?
As I understood that my abnormal behaviors were likely a result of ASD, my need to mask became less of a priority also making the ASD more noticeable. I don’t really look at faces when I talk anymore unless I really know the person, but it makes me able to actively engage. Agreed, not disappearing but ADHD is less relevant now than the ASD. We will never be normal, but we can mitigate the symptoms enough to engage to a satisfactory degree.

Progressive Politics@lemmy.world•Clarence Thomas Could Be Charged With Felony Tax Fraud in Virginia on Monday
57·15 days agoNothing will happen. He’s too important to the conservative (bowel) movement. If ignorance of the law is no excuse for breaking it, then machinations of enforcement, legislation, and interpretation of said law should be held to the highest standard. He should get triple the maximum sentence because of his position.
Corporations have this hilarious way of delegating the onus to the customer. “It is EVERYONES responsibility to recycle” - makes items out of non-recycleables. “If you can’t afford to tip, you can’t afford to eat out.” -lobbies to keep minimum wages low.

In my town, roads have potholes deep enough to cause damage to cars. Many intersections have been down and operating as 4 way stops for months. But somehow there’s money in the budget to do this shit. I think some vandalism might be in order to teach priorities.

I have my doubts because or the normal food bit of that email.
