  • Regarding the BHI -

    1. Huge error bars that aren’t even graphed properly. They’ve tweaked numbers pretty oddly here.
    2. The “Hydration Index” refers basically to how much your body retains the fluids (fluid in - fluid out after some time). That really is not a good measurement of being necessarily healthier in literally any respect. I would argue Hydration Index is a hugely misleading term.

    Your second study literally states up front that they were paid by Coca fucking Cola.

    Reading papers is cool, but it is dangerous to see one conclusion somewhere and spread it as factual advice.

    Finally, there are some indicators that diet soda can induce diabetes (possibly moreso than full sugar in some cases). Even if everything above is true, I suspect diet soda would still be a net health negative.

    Drink water.
