ryepunk [he/him]

Just some pathetic cis white boy from Canada’s worst province who never amounted to much of anything. Work in a grocery store that is mostly okay, but don’t make enough to live off so I’m resigned to just trying to not cry too much every day. I have a partner I dearly love.

  • Blue Prince. It’s a strange puzzle game about a randomly shifting house that you have to try and find the secret room. But because you’re randomly drawing rooms (sort of randomly, you get control over it) it can be difficult to accomplish all the the things you want in a timely manner. But it’s got all this lore and story about the douche bag Royals who owned the house before you. Stuff about your mum who left the family and why she disappeared. Then I got the classroom which unsurprisingly teaches you the mechanics of puzzles in rooms, but the fourth one totally blew me away and I don’t know what the game is at this point anymore. I’m in the middle of a 4 day stretch of work so I haven’t played earnestly since Friday but I’m eager to dig back in.

  • As someone who lives in Gastown Canada; Alberta, I regularly have to hear how we need to keep on extracting oil and gas because if we don’t we’ll fall behind or something else. And it’s just exhausting.

anakin-padme-2 you’ll at least use the money to invest in solar and wind battery technology to turn us into a part of that growing market right?

anakin-padme-3 I have found it better if we just made our companies incredibly wealthy doing whatever they want.

anakin-padme-4 I fucking hate this place

  • Nope, I don’t think he’s a terrible person, but he’s not a good dad. It’s pretty clear now that he never really had any passion for anything (or he did and never chased it, I guess we have something in common) and just kinda went with the plan for boomers. So he got a boring job that paid enough to have a house and two cars and 3 kids. He went to work and spent time with the kids occasionally. But he never taught me anything how to shave? Mom got me a razor and told me to figure it out. How to talk to girls, or date or anything? Nope, he vaguely alluded to making sure I only jerked off in my bedroom when I was like 16. And then never talked about sex or dating or relationships at all. Had a hard day? Well he’ll just shrug and go “yep it sucks out there sometimes”.

And that’s probably the best part about him. His treatment of my mother is infuriating, not because he’s actively abusive, but because he doesn’t do anything and acts like because he worked for 25 years (he retired early because he got too tired of working at 57 and basically nuked their retirement plan causing my mom to have to work until her RA diagnosis which forced her to retire in 50s) he has earned being a lazy shit head who only needs to wash the dishes and take out the garbage. He can’t cook, hates cleaning, and basically sits in front of a computer all day playing free to play mobile games on it while watching ESPN all day until the games themselves come on. He has no reason to leave the house and begrudgingly walks the dog. He’s basically done this for over fifteen years and is now in his 70s. My mom has begged him to get therapy or couples counselling and he has stoically refused to even discuss it.

  • Horizon: forbidden west. Just got to the “west” after the intro area. It’s a fun open world game, they’ve made combat quite a bit better so far, we’ll see if it last for the fifty plus hours it will take to finish.

I also finally started satisfactory, and got my factory to the space elevator and recently switched to coal power. I need to setup several more iron mines to really get production capable of building all things I need it seems. At some point I also need to switch to factory flors instead of just building on the ground, but I’ll need to get some materials in order to figure that step out.

  • I think the problem is a vast majority of the American people still believe that old Reagan line “the worst thing you can hear is I’m from the government and I’m here to help” or whatever that geriatric ghoul said.

The majority of people hold a propaganda fueled belief that the government is wasteful and ineffective and inefficient at doing things and so when they hear someone is going to find ways to fix that they mistakenly believe that it is coming from place of honesty and not the bald faced lie it actually is. They (Elon Musk and his sickos) just want to gut government to do whatever they want without any hindrance. If they have to ruin the lives of 200 million in the bottom 75%, well that’s a price they’ll happily pay.

  • I finished persona 5, and that was a nice happy ending that ended up being way more high stakes that I ever thought it would be. Which I should have guessed but oh well I enjoyed the characters.

I tried persona 5 strikers, but the dynasty Warriors mixed with persona didn’t really do anything for me so I have stopped.

Currently mostly waiting for monster hunter at the end of the month. I’m also moving in with my partner so gaming time is now mostly packing boxes and trying to figure out how I can move things without needing to rent a van or something. Probably end up needing a van or truck though.

There good thing is once I’m moved my computer won’t be right beside my father so I will actually want to go on it and I can play factory style games again, also I can resume my trails in the sky playthrough.
