It makes sense but it’s intentional on Nintendo’s part to make the consoles unusable… The less usable they can make their older consoles usable to the normal consumer that is not modifying their consoles is the point. It started with games servers going offline after their expiration dates, and now they are starting to do similar with the console itself.

That’s the hope. Perhaps maybe on a newer switch 2 model or something they’l have the required update on the newer Switch. Knowing how Nintendo is and how they keep moving the goal post though I am skeptical.

Algorithms are intended to push specific content. oh especially on Youtube. They should %100 be responsible.

I believe that when it’ results are either chronological or if users can control the algorithm, that’s when they should not be responsible (for the algorithmic serving of results.)

That said, Platforms should still be responsible for moderating hateful content and the like. Enforcing community guidelines, and moderating based on the law, e.u or u.s or other wise.

No results at all? Like no links show up in your results at all? Hadn’t heard of that happening or expereienced. although, it might happen in searxng depending on your search engine config in settings.

For a quick summary this, is ideally and particularly how I was planning for communities to work on Peertube.

What they ideally would do.

Act like public playlist, where any one can add their video to the community, possibly with an optional approval list.

Approved/submited videos should show in chronological order of the submitted video, not the original video upload date.

Communities would be managed by the specific dedicated server that created them.

What Peertube communities ideally should not do:

Change where (hosted instance) the video is hosted, except when necessary, such as backup or otherwise.

here’s an example of a search with better results then sepia search’s.

So what I mean is, if you do a blunt search there are videos that won’t show in sepia search or Vidverse search results. Having a communities like feature would make it easier to find user content.

If I search from a server using vidiverse sometimes the results might be better then sepia search results. or vice versa. I want more united results on Peertube across the board.

Can you add some kind of Peertube communities feature similar to Lemmy, to make it easier find get local videos hosted on local servers.

Glad to hear they have playlists working now. Playlists might seem basic, but it’s a big deal for Peertube. To have at least some users selected Peertube content to watch or rewatch. and I the user can’t say there is nothing on Peertube to watch.

The issue with chat is that they are harder to moderate and if a chat ends mods probably wouldn’t get to review the chat history. Some users might try using it to hide secrets. (particularly maga or hateful content against minorities among others)

I think what it is is, they want to serve you generic results so the further you go into specific territory you might get one or two results but not a lot. But search for the switch 2 or something popular that they can advertise over, and they’l have all the results in the world.

These seem to be the 4 options particularly for ssaid. See my last comment. you should also be able to reset the advertising I.d which you can easily do right on your android phone’s settings without root.

USAID is pretty straight forward to spoof, you can either do it with adb using a PC, or by factory resetting the phone. (which is probably a last resort for you not sure.) edit: or you can create a virtual environment, or root and use Xposed/Magisk modules.

No i’m saying what specifically do you mean by device id. because I need to know so I can tell you if or how you can spoof it.

One final detail, when you say device id. Do you mean (for Android) ssaid, IMEI or advertising I.d or Mac address?
