I’m sure most are aware of this but, just incase anyone passing through is not… Haiku OS
Works great in a VM… fun to play with, have not tried bare metal / daily driving it though.
cruising the internet in search of interesting stuff, things, and memes…

Fedora… it took way to long to figure out how to remove all the software I didn’t need / want and still have a functional system. I will not subject myself to that pain again 🙂
This was funny and disturbing at the same time… thanks for the link 🙂
Just a suggestion but take a look at this list… all of them should be either open source or at least free (trials, lite versions, etc.).
Find out what you use at work and see if there’s a trial version or if they use open source.
If not most of these tools are known and you may be able to find help online (forums, Lemmy, Reddit, etc.).
Yeah but… will they actually remember where they buried their acorns?
Someone just found LOIC on Sourceforge https://sourceforge.net/projects/loic/
Sometimes the best teacher is experience :)
I have two… these are from the old days of computing :)
One: guy said his monitor was showing wavy lines on the screen (old CRT monitor days). Went to his office, looked at his monitor. Sure enough wavy lines. Looked the top of his monitor. Removed the clock sitting on top of said monitor, no more wavy lines. Don’t put electric clocks on CRT monitors folks.
Two: working in a school system. Just before classes started. Get a call “none of the computers turn on”. Go to the classroom. Check a few machines. Machines “turned on” but didn’t boot the OS. Listen to one of the machines… hmmm, no drive noise. Tap it with the back of a screwdriver. Drive spins up, computer boots. Later found out that it was a semi-known problem with Seagate drives. If they sat to long without use, the heads would get stuck.
I second this comment!
Glad to read Frieren won, it’s a really good series!!
For 0 you may want to check out Revolt. Similar to Discord… not as polished / stable though.
If you run Discord groups the switch may be easy. If others run the groups… the “I told you so…” comment would still apply 🙂
Not affiliated with, just trying to promote alternatives when possible.
May not be the best or easiest way to find content but PeerTube maybe an alternative to YouTube.
As others have said… YouTube (like Discord, GitHub, etc.) has “the numbers”. Everything else is fighting an uphill battle… even if it’s a better alternative.
Make profit machine go brrrrr!
Maybe a slightly different take but… I always thought the Queensrÿche album Operation: Mindcrime could have been an interesting movie.
I’d probably try to get that made/fund that as a project.
As a newish gamer this meme actually made me feel better. I keep telling myself… I’ll figure it out eventually and beat this boss/mob/alien/etc. 🙂
You mean like…

Seems folks are thinking about it but… getting traction for these types of projects will be the real challenge. I’m not affiliated with either. I was just curious and did a quick search.
Would definitely use something like this if it comes to fruition.
You might want to check out https://addy.io
They are similar to Simple Login. You still have the issue of moving any current aliases to another platform but, there are alternatives.
I don’t think Addy.io has any kind of import function.
No one would notice or care… 1/10 🙂
There’s also the Sevendust version from Southside Double-wide Acoustic Live… just to stir the pot a little more 🙂
