    The varied enviroment really helps.

You can stand on a leafy, forested river bank with deer grazing nearby in the reeds as the sun rises. It can be the dock of a large lake with boats driving by during the day. Or you can be by a tiny rocky mountain lake shore as the sun sets over the distant hills. It’s can be really relaxing(as long as you’ve cleared the are and aren’t attacked by a wild animal)

  • I can with very high confidence say that for the average computer user, case-insensitive is basically the only alternative. At least if you don’t want IT and computer support around the world to start going postal.

As soon as someone is at least semi comfortable navigating a unix-style terminal and using a terminal based text editor to at least change config files, case-sensitive starts to become better. And often the more you get into programming, the more you get like Linus here and develop a hate.

  • It’s because they’ve given an LLM the ability to ban for “promoting or threatning violence”, and it’s terrible. It basically sees two “bad” words on one line and send out a ban. It seems like an attempt at making people use words like “unalive” and things like that.

Interestingly it doesn’t work if you spread it across more than one line(the haiku and similar bots don’t get banned after quoting comments that get banned).

  • Soil composition, access to water, temperature/seasons, mountains, salt water, etc.

It needs nutrients, water and heat, without access to that it just doesn’t grow or spread fast, or at all. So it can’t cross the deserts on its own. It can’t grow above a certain sea level so it can’t cross the mountains(Pandas regularly have to climb down the mountains to get more access to bamboo)., it can’t use salt water, it can’t grow if it gets too cold for long periods of time and so on. It’s just fast growing in ideal enviroments.

The big horror stories in regards to gardning, isn’t that it throws seeds around and just grows everywhere. It’s that once one seed as taken root, it will start growing rhizomes. Which are similar to roots, except it’s a stem that grows horizontally underground. And famously bamboo stems will grow through most things very quickly. So if you don’t put up a proper root barrier, they will grow across the nearby lawns and start sprouting roots and and shoots. And from what I remember each shoot can grow more rhizomes, so you have to basically dig up the entire area or use strong plant killing agents and go without a plants in the area for a while.
