❤️,seriously.
…just this guy, you know.
❤️,seriously.
personally, I prefer the good ol double bang (!!), but whatever floats yer boat, and all that.
yeah, agreed on that - gotta consider those as actual bad actors. “on the ground, irl” I didnt see much of it though. not saying in super close races it made no difference, but around here, even the ones disgusted by abhorrent dem behaviour, held their noses and pulled straight dem ticket.
what I do think had a meaningful negative impact was the lack of enthusiasm for the harris campaign as the election neared - not enough outreach and “bring 5 friends” moments. the early relief of “thank fuck its not biden!” was systematically snuffed out.
just a ton of misreading and lost opportunity by Democratic functionaries and we are left with an even more broken world. I am hoping beyond hope that there is a remaking of the Democratic party and a concerted effort, at least on the state level, for an end to first past the post.
the absolute rage and betrayal felt by a non-trivial number of diverse, dem leaning coalition members was not artificial in the least and needed no outside aggitation to make it one of thousands of dem self-inflicted papercuts that bled the soul out of dem support.
my family has consistently voted against the fascist monster, but the dems have helped hand the country over to them for decades. the republicans made the monster, but the dems failed to bar the door and seal the windows. neo-liberalism (even by the most gentle definition) is imploding globally in a spectacular way.
nope, and I loved reading it! 11/10 for an enjoyable read.
evolution is (generally but not always) a slow, incremental process and, just spitballin here, nature has made no promise that we are not a dead-end species.
no defense of nyt, but there was milquetoast acknowledgment of due process and the desire of some to do away with it. it was couched as “who are we, really?”
certainly weak, but the background stories presented at least somewhat humanized the victims here and offered local, expert information showing how pathetically flawed “gang membership” determination is.
come on, say it with me!
not disagreeing with you - I find performative “wrestle drama” absolutely, mind numbingly pointless. my preference is to participate in (and ocassionally watch) unscripted combat sport.
however… I have trained competitive martial arts for decades (muay thai, bjj, others) and most of these “wrestling” participants are pretty skilled athletes. it takes training to turn combinations of techniques designed to injure into something reasonably harmless. there is a pretty fine line separating sparring from a fight.
I know you know this, but its still useful to remember that these players are actors as well as athletes and that can obviously be pretty inviting for a lot of viewers.
in typical trump fashion - take a dump on the desk and walk out of the room. shart of the deal!
and with semantic contradictions, gross oversimplifications and added “miracle” power.
Hell yeah, I fucking nailed it
big oooof on the j-dawg and his tree.
but seriously, nice bit of ackchyually here.
the man has 10,000 alibis in every us state and territory. sounds like reasonable doubt to me.
perhaps “home insecure” is a better term. this market may turn many “home owners” into home renters.
those with unserviceable mortgages will lose them, increasing supply and putting further downward pressure on pricing right after a countrywide housing price bubble. these people are going to be massively underwater on their debt. there may be some people with the means to buy in a down market, but I think many homes will be snapped up at auction by corps for rental.
I am not sure how any of this results in an increase in wealth for average people. its likely going to end up as another massive wealth transfer upwards.
we just have to get past the machine gun turrets and mechs. but, yeah… this feels like its gonna get really bad, really fast, on purpose.
was talking to a “non-political” associate today and he dropped a nugget about how the media is telling him the economy is slowly improving. didnt have time to ask what media he was consuming and I am not sure he would admit to watching fox (but I think he does). I reminded him that he just pulled his house off the market because of no interest. this entire country has become delusional.
idk. I think residential landlords will be fine. they will adjust rents to scrape as much from their vassals as possible while renegotiating favorable-ish terms on any debt they may have to creditors - banks dont want houses.
its families who who will be destroyed by this. auction sales will be underwater and people will be homeless. serious pain has come for the american population.
yeah, this is purely preemptive to cast blame on powell as the entire us economy tanks.
as far as I am aware the feds focus is still entirely on trying to control inflation. what trump is demanding from powell would almost certainly lead to stagflation - economic contraction with increased inflation, and that is as bad as it sounds.
I dont think there is any better means to impoverish the general us population faster than trumps apparent “plan”. the wealthy, however, will be perfectly fine.
well there’s her original sin! not defending the the powerful against the unwashed hordes.
