2·1 day agoDoing ok. Decided last night to cook more so I can lose weight. Been eating too much take out.
Did afew fixes on my server
Probably will buy a pair of shoes this weekend.
All pretty boring stuff really. Life is slower these days, I don’t drink anymore but also don’t have crippling lows like I used to. I have a family of my own now who I adore. Life is good
How are you guys?

Sewing@lemmy.world•Finished my second octoplushy! I'm not giving them names, that's up to the recipients. (Hopefully! I hope the parents like them enough, they're perhaps not very cuddly...) These are both for newbornEnglish
1·2 days agoI saw that on the site earlier today. How did you find it to sew? Beginner friendly?
Looks great
Just abit of encouragement
Self hosting is easier than you think. I didn’t know anything about Linux prior to setting up a server. I’m faaaaaar from an expert but even a noobie like me was able to set up a truenas system by watching tutorials and reading. It’s definitely alot of problem solving in the beginning but it gets easier.
In terms of storage. Mega is great value for money and all E2E

8·2 days agoNot suprised but certainly disappointed NZ is essentially aggreeing to hand personal information to ICE willingly.
Personal security and digital sovereignty is more important now than ever.
I’m not into this eh

I stopped drinking afew years ago as it got me into too much trouble but I’m sure if you come back and try it again it will taste as good as you remember it.
Unfortunately our political situation is much less desirable than it was previously. We just gotta grin and bare it.
Come back and do the track. Hope to see you here some time. It’s a beautiful country

Definitely worth spending abit extra on this over Cadbury

I used to be ACAB all day. I’ve got it tattooed on my arm (we’re all young once). I loathed the cops more than anything. But then I starred to notice a shift. The NZ police have made a genuine effort to change over the last 10-15 years. I know Andrew Coster messed up badly recently but I think he did good as commissioner.
Yeah there are still pigs, but there shit people in every bunch, can’t help that.
There’s recent corruption stuff too but they are actively working on that and they prosecute their own when they mess up badly.
I’d much rather a dog was pepoer sprayed than shot dead like they do in the states. We don’t know how lucky we are to not have a police force like USA. Obviously they aren’t perfect, far from it, but I believe they are good and want to help.
