Just like it was on Mastodon where DMs were actually a thing, but were not something so straightforward (usually just create a regular post with only the person that you wanted to talk with tagged in there).

Also, if you stumble across any Romanian store, ask them if they got mici meat. They’re basically sausage without the membrane. You fry them on the barbecue and eat them with mustard and optionally with a beer on the side :)
Additionally, you can also cook some sarmale, mămăligă or papanași really easily.

Yeah, tbh, my parents also lived in a brutal dictatorship, cut off from the rest of the world and lied by their totalitarian government. So I kinda understand that you are now the ones listening to Radio Free Europe with the volume low under a blanket, so-to-say.

@Zero22xx Friendica is more personal so to say… idk how to put it. It is more like Facebook :D You’ll likely find your way.
And another small thing for me (that can be easily fixed by styles and apps) is no apparent dark mode.
Go to Settings>Display>Custom theme settings, then click the drop-down on appearance (should be the second item).
If you’re using the Vier theme instead of Frio, scroll down to Theme settings and select the drop down next to “set style”.
@Zero22xx It depends. What use case did you have in mind?
@Zero22xx There are multiple Friendica instances. You can check them in the Friendica Directory (in the servers section) or other more global lists of Fediverse servers like the-federation.info, FediDB etc. Friendica has groups too, but besides the !helpers@forum.friendi.ca (or probably even the !fediversenews@venera.social one) they’re pretty much lacking activity (you’re still free to post anyway, there are plenty of them).
If you need some help, you can also post on the former one by creating a regular post and mentioning the group with “!” or “@”. All servers can set a default theme, and much of what people dislike about Friendica can just be fixed by swapping the Frio theme (which is default to many of the servers) with this one. In fact, there’s already a server who did just that: loma.ml

I’m assuming you previously used Facebook mostly, right? If so, there’s also a Facebook alternative called Friendica, with pretty much the same core functionality as Facebook (sans Marketplace). Besides that, you can also format your posts and comments, add titles to them, get a dislike button and customize your experience more than you could do there. Plus you can also follow Lemmy communities straight from there, as well as Mastodon accounts, Flipboard publications etc.
