  • Yep I have too many (although I don’t think I’m at 17), in order of time spent wearing:

Smart black work shoes Slippers Crossover walking shoe/trainers Casual trainers Gym trainers Outdoor working shoes Golf shoes Proper hiking boots Wellies Indoor football shoes Astro football shoes

I go through the work shoes probably 1 pair every 2 years or so. Slippers last maybe 12 months max, although I do wear them for jobs around the house. Everything else just lasts until it falls apart and gets replaced.

I think it’s fair to say that I prioritise function over form - maybe this is the wrong forum for me, but you did ask the question!

  • Hey it looks like some other guy didn’t help you much. I’m not going to help much either but I’d imagine that if your model has any kind of smart infotainment type of thing then it’s probably being tracked. I mean, from a business perspective, why wouldn’t you? It’d be lovely to have systems that allow you to navigate, take photos, listen to music, contact friends…without spying on you. Sadly, I don’t think companies see such things as being in their interests.

If you do find a list anywhere, I’d be interested to know. I don’t have a VW - just a petrol ford focus, but I imagine that my data is being collected in much the same way as this.

Could you elaborate on this comment? Seems like the person before you went to a mostly black school/college and so has experienced being part of a segregated society/community. Are there areas that are less segregated or not at all? For context I am from the UK, where we have some integration but still quite high levels of segregation; I live in the southeast, in an area which is over 95pc white British, but there are other areas with much higher populations of other races/nationalities (Bradford, in the north midlands, is around 25pc Pakistani, and only a little over 50pc white British).

Did you/do you live in an area that isn’t or doesn’t feel segregated?

  • Someone hides a camouflaged container in a slightly interesting place (e.g. behind a statue, near an old church, some place with a nice view) and registers the GPS location, usually on an app. In the container they’ll put a small (sometimes tiny) notebook and sometimes a little trinket of some sort. They may also put a couple of text hints on the app as to the container’s exact location.

You then use the app to navigate to the GPS location and search for the container. Put your name/nickname in the notebook, take/swap/leave a trinket, and re hide the container.

We do it most often when we’re on holiday with our kids (both under 10), it’s usually a nice way to explore the area you’re in, since the locations have generally been chosen by someone with a good knowledge of the local area. There’s only been 1 so far we’ve been unable to get, and that’s because it’s 15m up a big tree and we don’t have any climbing gear!
