For files I just use WebDAV that’s built in to Apache. It’s really not fancy, but does all I need.

Here in downtown Toronto, ridings are tiny (in terms of area) and the borders are pretty arbitrary, with people on the same street sometimes represented by different MPs and MPPs. It’s honestly a bit ridiculous, myself and two friends who live within a couple of minutes walk have two MPPs and three MPs! (Federal and provincial borders are different this year) I’d really be much happier if the whole city becomes one multi-member riding. With Rural-Urban Proportional, rural areas keep local representation kinda like now (FPTP) but get the benefits of proportionality from the regional top-up. I think it’s a reasonable, if not perfect.

Decilitre is actually the common unit for drinks in Hungary (and possibly in other countries). Hungarians also use dekagramm, which is 10 grams. But the cool thing about metric is that to convert, you just move the decimal around!

A more reasonable thing to do is something like Swatch Internet Time, you get 1000 “.beats” in a day with no time zones. Beyond a day it might not be too helpful to keep decimal, there will be 365+fraction days a year no matter how you measure it.

I had the opposite problem, I brought a soldering iron from Europe to Canada, and despite using a step up transformer, it just couldn’t get hot enough to melt the solder!

I wouldn’t say pale in comparison. Enterprise was really good in my opinion. Lower Decks and Prodigy too, these are a bit different, but have the same spirit I think.

I also rewatch The Original Series episodes every once in a while. The show as a whole is not really good by modern standards, but it has gems and it’s interesting to see where it all began.

Every show except Discovery has a balance of great episodes, filler episodes, and bad episodes. Discovery was bad from A to Z.

Probably true about Liberal victory, but if all spoiler candidates dropped out this election cycle, Libs would have had 41 seats to the NDP’s 31, and the Greens would have had 3.

So Libs will have had to be in a coalition to govern, and their coalition partners could have pushed proportional representation.

Both Marit Stiles and Bonnie Crombie put defeating Ford at the top of their agenda. If they were serious about it they wouldn’t have filed candidates in ridings where vote splitting was a concern. They would have divvied them up and formed a coalition, but I guess defeating Ford was not that important after all. Not having done that is wishful thinking at best given the polls, and more realistically, idiocy.
