Assigning ranks based of job role, setting hard limits to work hours, income based on academic performance, pre-set food, bike, car, even cutlery and bedding - all of these things seem to reduce individuality and personal autonomy. It’s reminiscent of armies. I understand that there is a whole economy and this is only the starting point, but I would suggest a UBI on top of the UBR so the individual can choose how much to spend on bedding, what kind of cutlery they want, etc. I think it would be too wasteful, time-consuming, and impractical for a government to micromanage its citizens’ lives to such extents.
Edit: Forgot to mention but this system would also create a lot of waste. For example, what am I supposed to do with the cutlery I was given as a starter once I want to buy my own? Same with bedding, bike, and I think worst offender being the kei car. Not only would granting everyone a kei car increase car centrism and traffic density, it would be very wasteful because of how many resources go into making a car.
I can see that a lot of thought went into this and while I agree with many points, I also have to point out that this much control over people’s lives feels restrictive and authoritarian. Universal Basic Resources vs Universal Basic Income, I do lean towards UBR more, but not the rest of the government restriction. Housing, water, food, healthcare, and public transport are all we need to implement imo.
My suggestions, which I believe are much simpler, are co-op housing, potable tap water, ration cards, and free public transport at the level of the Netherlands. Healthcare, a lot of countries have sorted out so I don’t think I’ll comment much on - except to mention that I don’t believe weight reduction surgery needs to be free.
Is that blood on the ground next to the mound of what I can only assume are dozens of bodies?
I’m not American, and I have been boycotting American, not sure what you mean.
Boycotting is part of the solution, at least for non-Americans. Here’s an American who is just cheering it on. I don’t think there’s anything at all wrong with that.
When your country acts in a way to make you lose your national pride, that is not your fault. Your brand of nationalism is what lead to the current state of America to begin with. There’s nothing wrong with wanting your country to be better and do better, deluding yourself that it is better is fucking insane. Saying “America has its own issues” does not even begin to cover it when they’re leading the charge for homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, bigotry, and every other kind of hate under the sun. They’re taking on the role of Germany just before WW2 and your comment is that the country has its issues.
I was trying so hard to buy one but Sony did not make them available at all in my country. The only way to buy an Xperia or a Zenfone 10 is through shady importer websites and you get no warranty.
This would’ve been my new phone if it had a headphone jack.
I have no skin in the game. I’m not religious, I grew up in a much smaller religion than either Jewish people or Muslims, and I decided early on that I do not believe in any gods. Culturally, my environment was very Islamophobic growing up, my mom still can’t stop badmouthing Muslims. I have no hatred towards Jewish people or Muslim people. When Muslim people commit atrocities towards any group, I call them atrocities, when Jewish people commit atrocities, I call them atrocities.
You seem to take issue with Palestinian nationalism, but what do you call Israel’s genocide? Is that not a form of nationalism? Refugee crises are a topic of debate, and no country is obligated to take on refugees. Who’s cutting whose heads off in Gaza? Israel has bombed it to rubble indiscriminately, they’ve not only killed innocent men, but also women and children. They’ve intentionally targetted marked and lit humanitarian aid vehicles and killed impartial aid workers and paramedics. To call their actions barbaric is an insult to barbarians. Nobody’s enslaving Jewish people in Palestine, but there’s thousands and thousands of Palestinians being rampantly murdered by Jewish people. If you could stop being the victim for five seconds, you could see why so many people have a problem with what’s happening in Palestine.
P.S. You’re more likely to get disappeared by ICE nowadays if you’re in the States as a POC, especially a refugee.
Right, none of which is ethno-nationalism. British rule colonised a ton of countries around the world, a lot of which revolted against them. Why is Palestine any different in this case? Because they fought against Jewish immigration who openly declared that they wanted to take over the land? That’s not immigration, that’s invasion.
You’re just wrong on this one. Palestine existed way before the Zionist movement. If a group of people move into your ancestral home and tell you, “hey my fairy tale book here says this place is mine” will you leave quietly? Palestinian protests stem from this problem. Saying a keffiyeh is equivalent to a klan hood is fucking bizarre, because keffiyehs are a cultural symbol that come from people living in arid climates. It has become a political symbol to support Palestine in this genocide taking place against them.
Took me a minute to understand what I’m looking at
Yeah I’m not going to use his preferred name since he has made it clear he doesn’t like preferred names. Full legal name only for Sen. Rafael Edward Cruz.
I agree 300 km/h is insanely fast and stupid on public roads.
The rest of your points sound like you live in 2005.
A lot of regular traffic nowadays will get you to 200 km/h. Above 150 km/h is not relying on sheer luck, I’m sorry that’s just not true. Yes it’s really really fast and really illegal, but you maintain control given a few conditions.
I’m also not sure what you mean by “special gear for improved road grip.” A car’s shape naturally somewhat resembles an aerofoil, so yes you generate lift at high speeds. Most modern cars account for this by aerodynamic design, including but not limited to things like diffusers, spoilers, splitters, and the shape of the body itself. These help keep you planted along with good suspension and good tires. I’m certain that just about any car made within the last two decades will not become uncontrollable past 150 km/h unless you’re driving on a really wet surface.
Surely you must mean Rafael Edward Cruz
I implore you to go search “Ozturk” on YouTube. A video from the NY Post comes up. Read the comments. I cannot believe the reaction of such an un-empathetic population.
You will vote for the annexation of your and my country over a fucking gun hobby? Do you understand how ridiculous that is?
Hi yes I like to draw but art supplies are an issue with this government. I will vote for the loss of millions of people’s rights and lives so it’s more convenient for me to draw. Who raises you morons?
Not trying to push you towards anything, but what you’re saying sounds a lot like my partner, who is genderfluid.
I’m a fully brown person with fully brown ancestry and cilantro tastes like soap
