Apartments can be owned by the residents, too. (Condos/flats.) Improvements in technology are now making it possible for companies to own and operate single-family homes in the same way that they’ve owned and operated apartments for hundreds of years. For that reason, I don’t find this bill to be logically consistent; If it is problematic for companies to own and operate homes (and I am skeptical that it is), then apartments should also be included.

I hope that blimps make a comeback. They could be used as drone carriers (like aircraft carriers), and could recharge the drones with solar power. And if they were unmanned, then hydrogen would be more more acceptable.

Some things that would help:

• A wealth tax. Their wealth will continue to grow exponentially, but at least a portion of it could be harvested to reduce the deficit.
• Taxing capital gains the same as ordinary income. Making money from investments requires no effort, and it blows my mind that wage income is taxed more heavily.

This will not increase the housing supply. In fact, it should theoretically decrease construction of housing, by reducing the demand for it. But it would be much harder for Congress to address the root of the problem, and big companies make an effective scapegoat.
