No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why would anyone downvote a question on No Stupid Questions?
11·2 days agohumans are humans everywhere.
I’m pretty much like you. I made a reddit account with proton about 6 months ago, but if this one gets closed, it’ll be the end of my story with Reddit. Seriously, it’s the peak of stupidity to target a huge number of people just because they use a certain type of email! I found out that some people made new accounts and opened them using a VPN, and their accounts were closed instantly! I really don’t understand how they think!

Atheist Memes@lemmy.world•Thanks god for saving us from a situation you created yourself
2·9 days agoIf I found evidence that creator exists, I would be convinced they are either sadistic or indifferent. I’m not going to assign them nice qualities just to make them seem better.

Atheist Memes@lemmy.world•Thanks god for saving us from a situation you created yourself
6·9 days agoUnfortunately, a lot of adults told us those fairy tales when we were young, and we believed them for a long time…

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are you supposed to say to someone who believes climate change is real but won't accept that human activity contributes to it?
2·20 days agoWe have people like this running Egypt. They’re constantly cutting down trees!
Honestly I don’t understand what’s going on with reddit! I got banned by mistake once, and reddit asked me to update my email and password. But even after I did, the ban still wasn’t lifted!

Reddit@lemmy.world•Banned from Reddit for alleged ban evasion
22·20 days agoHave you actually seen organized campaigns aimed at pushing particular agendas, or are you just calling anyone who disagrees with you a “bot account”? just asking.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do people discuss movie or comic books logic?
5·22 days agoI used to say that about people who discuss movies and football, but then I realized I’m just like them when it comes to music. I don’t see any reason to mock people’s trivial interests or claim that our triviality is somehow better than theirs. Life is harsh, and people just want to be happy.
I was active on a particular sub and got worried that I might have accidentally posted personal info that could make me easier to track down. I asked the mods to delete all of my content from their sub, and they did. they removed everything using the “purge-user” bot.
Suddenly, my account was security-locked, and I was asked to update my email address and password! The problem was that when the security lock was applied, the system replaced the email I had been using with an old, deleted Tutanota email that I no longer used! I had to pay for a Tutanota subscription to recover that email and receive emails from Reddit.
After doing all that and finally updating my email and password, my account was still locked. I submitted appeals several times, but nothing worked.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are the most disrespected aspect of life?
7·29 days agoFamily and home.
There was a time when I had to live on the streets, away from my family, against my will. And during that time, I realized just how many blessings I’d had without even appreciating them.

Unpopular Opinion@lemmy.world•Social media is an awful inventionEnglish
5·30 days agoSocial media was great in its early days I think! When it was mainly about helping people connect with others they didn’t know… It was an exciting idea! But it started to take a turn for the worse when the owners of these platforms wanted to expand and reach more people. They began doing anything, even harmful things, to get users to spend more time on the platforms and become dependent on them.
Algorithms now recommend more content that plays on people’s emotions, especially fear and anger! Platform owners made it possible for anyone to become a digital creator and earn money, which led creators to publish anything, even misleading information. Short and fast-paced content spread everywhere, and the original purpose of social media was lost.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What communities DON'T you want to see here?
2·1 month agoHonestly, I didn’t know that there was a limit! That’s going to be annoying for people who don’t want to see certain subreddits, but at the same time don’t want to isolate themselves like me!

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What communities DON'T you want to see here?
41·1 month agoThe best thing about Reddit is that it lets you mute any community you don’t like, and you can even block notifications and your timeline from giving you recommendations or suggestions altogether. So honestly, with all these features, Idk how anyone could still have a problem with certain communities existing!

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is Japanese (language) popular than Mandarin for weebs? (Besides Anime)
2·1 month agoHonestly, I don’t see any reason for weebs to like the Japanese language other than their love for Japanese anime, which is immensely popular. I actually have a close friend who speaks Japanese sentences, even though the language is completely different from our language, and learning any language, especially Asian ones, is very difficult! But being passionate about a language and surrounding yourself with it makes it much easier.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you or an elder relative you know were financially scammed, how did it start?
61·1 month agoThere’s no way for a person to learn other than making a lot of errors, or talking to people who got scammed to understand how it happened. As long as we’re alive, until we die, we’ll keep learning.
