Yeah, I got a 7-day ban for saying Luigi Mangione probably shouldn’t go to prison for what he did because they said I was inciting violence. They lifted it on appeal, but not before hitting me with a perma-ban for some bullshit about circumventing the ban with other accounts (I’ve had exactly one account on reddit in the ~14 years I’ve been there), so I decided they were getting a bit too fashy for my taste and started looking for greener pastures.

Except it’s not being able to be elected, because he’s served two terms and that limitation isn’t just a law, it’s an amendment. I don’t care how much of congress they control, changing it will require a new amendment and that’s just exceedingly unlikely to happen, much less happen before the end of his current term. So if he can’t change the rules, attempting to stay in power anyway is absolutely fascist dictatorship material.

Reddit admins started getting quite a bit more fashy banning people for even just upvoting certain stuff. I got caught up in that and hit with a bullshit temp ban, then before it got lifted on appeal I got hit with a total bullshit perma ban. It was also lifted on appeal, but by that point I was fed up and went looking for alternatives. I still use reddit a tiny bit, mostly posting questions on subs there when there isn’t a community here or there is but it has like 12 members and hasn’t seen a post in 3 months or whatever.

I just don’t pay that much attention to celebrities, I don’t give a shit about all the BS around being famous, I don’t care about their opinions on literally anything, etc, so even if I had heroes they wouldn’t be celebrities.

Yeah I don’t really either. I dunno why my brain cooked all this up, like I’ve never had a dream that picked up where it had left off the previous night, so these dreams weren’t one rolling into the next, they were kind of like living in this town at various points, separated by years or even decades, during certain key events. It’s weird.

Yeah I can see the appeal, but I’m just not familiar enough for it to be worth the added effort. I’ve been thinking about just going with main-line ubuntu since most of the solutions I saw in reddit posts and such for the problems I had with PopOS were for ubuntu anyway.
