I am fast and loose with blocking on all platforms. No regrets.

It’s often not even personal. Sometimes someone expresses a mild dislike of cats and I’m like “don’t need your noise”.

Repost a hilarious meme that I whole heatedly agree with, but with the word “fuck” poorly crossed out? “Algo-speak promoting motherfuckers”, roll of the dice on my mood, probably blocked.

My Guild Wars 2 ignore list is full of people labeled “says boiz too much”, “annoying fashion”, “made bad joke about bees”.

There are so many people on the Internet, it’s fine. I’ve taken this approach since MUDs were in fashion and I am pretty confident that it’s only served to improve my online experiences.

Consider a usage other than “fear”. Think of something hydrophobic. Do you really think that an inanimate surface is afraid of water?

I don’t think it’s technically incorrect, I think folks have been taught an overly narrow usage of the suffix.

The fashion crowd has chimed in and they’re certainly not wrong. That said from a practical standpoint, outside of the one-off fashionistas and overzealous folk working the door, very few people will be paying that much attention to your shoes if they’re matching your pants.

I am completely wrong if this is a snooty crowd having a wedding at a country club or something extreme like that. For the most part though your average person is enjoying the wedding not inspecting everybody’s shoes.

If you want to Google some general guidance, formal is generally somewhere between cocktail and Black tie.
