That does assume that the universe would be simulated for our benefit and that intelligent life is not just a side effect. If that was the case then why even bother including hundreds of billions of galaxies worth of stars in the simulation.

It would be so much easier, cheaper and more practical to just retrofit a cargo ship and float it in international waters…or pick a jurisdiction on land that doesnt give a shit as long as you pay them.
Probably not. Russia’s motives dont stem from a communications failure. They stem from predatory imperialist intent, and they arnt scared of the EU or Canada.
Only legally. If he was angling for a pardon the story would be he was a heroic innocent alpha male wrongly convicted by a woke liberal California court trying to silence him because of democrat feminism Obama.
You might never see the sun again!
Spongebob-Webster cinematic universe confirmed. Just as Ive always suspected.
Really the most surprising thing about this whole debacle has been just how little support China has been able to rally, at least in public. I dont think they realized just how much ill will the wolf-warrior strategy had earned them over the past few decades.
In two generations well probably be banging rocks together in a irradiated hellscape and Ill hopefully be long dead.
Creating an enduring positive legacy takes effort, and neither Jobs or Bezos really made an attempt. Guys like Musk and Gates are making that effort and are likely to be remembered, although I think its pretty unlikely Musk will ever be able to restore a positive connotation to his name.
You know their name. Just about everyone reading your comment knows their names as well. Further, when most people hear their names the first thing that pops into their head is something positive and prestigious, not the awful things they did to make their fortunes. Many of their descendants are still wealthy and powerful to this day. It doesn’t really make much difference if people spend time looking at their portraits.
I think it was really more that all the other species naturally tend to hate vulcans and like humans. The vulcans desperately needed a popular friend.
If theres one thing I know about aliens, its that the whole ship needs to burn in orbit. Its the only way to be sure.
Dont buy a project car if you dont want a project. Some people like that shit, but its not for everyone.
Dont use freaking Arch if your goal is to get everything to work out of the box?
You know who should be doing that? The Democrats in the House and Senate. If they cant even do that a bunch of geriatric retired politicians writing a letter to the editor its going to galvanize anything.
Who exactly does he think the former presidents are going to convince? They hate Bush, and the rest are all Democrats.
Would be a shame if someone reported all their MAGA coworkers.
If theres one thing nobody wants, its brain lessons.
No idea. Power abhors a vacuum, and there are a million different permutations that could lead us to the inevitable.
Im just reminded of the words I drunk texted the night Trump won the election: The US will withdraw from the world. Europe will try to stand up, but fall flat on its face. WWIII is inevitable.
Way to go Brussels. A nice measured response. I’m sure history will remember how reasonable you were when they are sorting through the ashes one day.
The US, China, Russia and more all have the capability to reach out and touch a data center in orbit. Further, such a facility wont last long without regular and extensive ground based support, which will very much be in someone’s jurisdiction. Finally, if a mega corp cant even get one government somewhere on Earth to let them operate a single micro data center without interference then they hardly have the pull required to make a play at world domination.
