I think with time the rope will be inevitably cut no matter what at this point. I guess we’ll see.

The industry makes something around 190 billion per year, they will be fine without raising their prices to 80$. I ran that in my head considering that I worked in the industry myself. Devs aren’t paid enough not because we don’t pay games enough but because these companies are run by greedy fucks. Don’t feel bad for them, buy games when they are on sale or buy indie games. Games won’t go anywhere be reassured.
Nah. I keep seeing this argument and I really disagree with it. It’s actually really simple economics; we don’t need to calculate inflation into this. If I think the price of something is too high (especially something I don’t need to survive), I don’t buy it. Companies can cry all they want, in the end I don’t care.

Installing softwares is much safer and easier.
Windows:
Linux:
Either do something like…
“sudo dnf install (name of app)” in the terminal
Or simply click on “Install” in the software manager.
The trajectory of the shit moving toward the fan has reached its end.
Oh? Is that a new convention? It has been a while since I posted in here. (Fixed btw)
If you are interested, Yanis Varoufakis has a very similar analysis of the current situation.

I agree. To me art is an expression of the soul; it’s an expression of one’s perception of the world. It has spiritual qualities (in an atheist sense). There is an inner world that puts out together a piece of art that LLMs do not possess and that’s why they need to train on existing material that comes from human expression.
I highly doubt an LLM suffers, loves, hopes, hates and cries like us. Art is an expression of who we are individualy and collectively. LLMs only hallucinate with art made by humans. While we humans can find inspiration from other artists, it is not a necessity to train on vast databases of art pieces to put something together. They say that while it’s hard to define what art is, you know it when you see it. To me when I get that feeling from something made by AI, all I really see is a piece of an other artist’s soul trapped in some sort of simulacrum put together by an algorithm.
Cut the training material and AI “art” will stagnate. We, on the other hand, won’t.
That’s why I think AI art will never really be art… unless if one day they somehow develop a “soul” themselves and start to express an inner world of their own.
Ehhh… I don’t think you would say that if you were paying close attention with how he handled opposition the couple of last years.
For instance, he used special laws about 20 times to cripple any opositions when his party lost his majority to pass unpopular laws. They tried to make it illegal to film police and they pushed insane surveillance laws during the Olympic games that is most likely to stay. He refused to let the opposition name a prime minister even if the opposition won the legislative elections. He went against the clear will of the people regarding the age of retirement by forcing it with a special law (90% of workers were against it). Hell… he crippled public hospitals by removing beds during the Covid19 pandemic. He is a typical neo-liberal that mostly has the interest of his own social class. People really wanted him gone and he did everything in his power to stay. He’s still there because people were scared of the far right. I’m skipping so many things because there are so much mess to report I can’t actually remember it all of it on the top of my head.
The people are so pissed about him that there are talks about the 5th republic being a failure and needing to be changed for a 6th republic.
He has a good image on the geopolitical scene, but I would find another role model if I were you. I’m not French, but I can confidently say that he’s a lying piece of shit and most people in France hate him.
It was a hard fight and many of us almost got killed, which wasn’t very nice.
Please, elaborate.
Excellent target choice. Well done.

More or less:

Elon Musk uses X to promote anti-EU political parties.
Every purchase done with one of his companies finances his fight.

Same here. This is outrageous. What the actual fuck?!
I don’t believe a single word of this bullshit.

This article points to a research that concludes that piracy is really not an issue for those companies though.
It think that piracy is actually a great way to give everyone access to culture that shouldn’t be gatekept by their financial situation. Imagine a world where pirating music is shun today. Nobody cares now, we all listen to free music online without paying. Not to mention that piracy is pretty much the only sureway to make sure some medias (including games) are preserved. If you want to make sure that your favorite games don’t become lost medias in the future you should consider the good sides of piracy because those companies don’t care about it; they just want you to buy the next thing.
So if piracy is not affecting those companies revenues and if it gives access to culture to everyone and even help preserving media why the hell shoul we lose our minds over it? Sounds like a good thing to me.
Now, selling a game that cannot be owned and that can be revoked at anytime or a game that can change its TOS on a whim is much scummy imo.
If you don’t want people to pirate your game, price them fairly and allow you customers to own a copy and offer an easy to use service.
In any cases, I won’t shed a single tear if someome pirate a game especially a AAA game.
