  • Weather Seeds show the exact times for shooting stars, as well as rain, and other weather conditions. We use it mostly for shooting stars, likewise if we know there will be shooting stars we can look for Celeste to get star related diys. Celeste is not there every time there are shooting stars. Knowing when it will be raining helps with getting bugs and the rain fish.

At one time we only used time travel for short periods, now we leave the Switch stay there for weeks at a time. We keep the same day of the week, and time of day, just a different starting date.

  • Interesting, we just got Avery, our 10th villager today. I restart my Southern Hemisphere island often, I really like the first couple days on a new island. The last 3 islands we Timed Travelled to the first week of January to start, it is a great time for a Southern Hemisphere island, great fishing and lots of bugs.

ACNH is the only game we play, so setting the clock to January does not create any problems. We may time travel within the same day to meet our schedule but do not do any serious time travel until we get the beautify ordinance. We found that most times our Southern Hemisphere island will get shooting stars in early January, so at night I may use a cheap, less than $10 HDMI video capture card and record several hours of the night sky to watch later and get the weather seed as soon as posssible after an island restart. Tomorrow the Beautify Ordinance goes in effect and we will work on the fish and bugs first to fill the museum. We don’t always finish the museum, some times it may need 1 or two fossils or a statue we can not get.

  • About 2 years ago my wife was able to get blue roses in about 60 days, it was Northern Hemisphere during the snow season. We tried using the same method at the same time in the Southern Hemisphere (summer) but did not do as good and finally gave up. She was extra careful to make sure she did not mix flowers, kept them well isolated. She did not allow them together until step 4, then she kept all the step 4 hybrid red roses together. It took up a lot of room isolating each pair to make sure they did not cross bred with the wrong flower. Each step she planted a new seed flower. We had flowers everywhere, every time we got a hybrid we moved it to a different spot and planted a seed flower next to it. If the pair produced anything other than the desired hybrid flower, it was trashed so not to get them mixed.

I pretty sure this is the method she used:

Step 1 : Seed White + Seed White = Purple

    Step 2 : Purple from Step 1 + Seed Red = Pink

Step 3 : Pink from previous step + Seed Yellow = Hybrid Red

Step 4 : Hybrid Red from previous step + Hybrid Red from previous step = blue

  • Not many active posters here.

My wife and I play ACNH every day, she has a NH island and I have a SH island that I restart often . I think Feb 4 is the last restart, but I time traveled to Jan 1, 2025. We are into the basics, last evening my wife caught 29 dorados (15k bells each) on a mystery island, today we got the new Residential Services building and now she has 40 pocket spaces , so she will be trying it again to see if she can get 39 . The first couple weeks on a new island are my favorite part of the game.

  • Yes, you are correct, at one time using blank NFC tags was considered the best method.

The big difference is the little unit I described is ready to go, the only thing you need to know is the amiibo number for the character you want if you do not want to edit the file names. They have a chart with pictures to look up the character, but it follows the same as the regular amiibo. For example, Avery is 140, you scroll down to AC 101 -200 and in that folder select AC 140.bin and hold the unit near the pro controller and it calls Avery. It is really fast at Harvey’s Island doing group pictures.

I think they have every amiibo currently available already in this newest system, but I only know about ACNH , and it seems complete . I have no experience with the amiibo characters for the other games, we only play ACNH.

  • Update:

We finished the museum on Shell Isle (island after Nookadoon) and restarted it again as Cool Isle, we still need a tuna to finish the museum. I learned I like it best the first few days when the player does not have one bell to rub against another. However, time moves on and after you get so far it is better to finish it out. Setting the clock to 4:59 am allows you to restart the same day, I did not feel like waiting 2 days for Residential services to upgrade so I used that method to speed it up. Isabelle said we were level 2 and needed more residents. I used the 4:59 am trick to add villagers, after I thought we added the 8th villager Tom Nook said I could not add any more. I figured I screwed it up because I did not talk to Isabelle enough. Prior to adding more villagers She told us we were at level 2 and needed more residents. Anyhow, when I asked she said we were level 5 , a couple hours to go from 2 to 5. We are not creative, so our islands have the basics to be level 5 . We usually use 2 players with nothing to get to level 3, then move our regular players in with their houses. However this time went differently so our regular players came back after reaching level 5.

On our sister Island, my wife’s player house has passed 300 thousand score with Happy Home, I thought that was pretty good. She likes to collect photos, I think she has 60+ different villager photos. After she gets their photo she gets rid of them.

However, my favorite scene was Tom Nook shivering one cold morning as he gave the speech. Next time I will make a video.

  • Yesterday I tried Google Support yet again, same as before, he wanted me to reboot, remove and install everything including Google account again. After I refused to keep doing the same things over and over again he said he would elevate it to the next level of support and they would contact me via email. I am waiting for the email. It would be nice to be able to purchase the “remove ads” but I do not think that is going to happen any time soon.

  • It is going on 3 days, every android device registered to me continues to do the same thing, after several hours of removing and installing by direction of Google Support it is still the same. I suspect it has nothing to do with either the app or my devices, I strongly suspect it has to do with the Google payment system not clearing the request. As much as I would like to get it fixed, I really am tired of dealing with Google Support, they are pleasant but worthless.

  • Thanks for the suggestions, the OLED models look to be the best quality, but I read users that keep their TV on for several hours a day are better off with a QLED. We play ACNH for several hours a day, watch a couple TV shows and have the CCTV cameras on for most of the time we are awake. Maybe 12+ hours a day would be too much for a Oled and we would get screen burn in. On the other hand I saw some like LG have programs that run when the TV is off to keep the burn in from developing. On the other hand they said the old Plasma models were sensitive to screen burn in and ours has been working hard almost every day for several years and only recently started showing signs of burn in that we could see.
