This is why I got a Razr. Once the technology becomes common, I dream of a regular size phone that shrinks to a matchbook or something.

Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft wants you to talk to your PC and let AI control itEnglish

I delayed Linux on the main computer for years for the kids’ video games and trying to give MS a chance when they were trying to be good (WSL2, Win10 forever, etc.)
Now when I start the machine in windows, a splash screen comes up and literally tells me to buy a new computer. Linux has been lovely.
The first Black Adder.
Does “reset and recovery” mean “wipe the hard disk and put a fresh licensed Windows install on”?
Not needing a license for a Linux distro means that’s straightforward without a special tool.

Great for giving incantatons for ffmpeg, imagemagick, and other power tools.
“Use ffmpeg to get a thumbnail of the fifth second of a video.”
Anything where syntax is complicated, lots of half-baked tutorials exist for the AI to read, and you can immediately confirm if it worked or not. It does hallucinate flags, but fixes if you say “There is no --compress flag” etc.
HN crowd told me they’re porting to swift. When I asked “why not Rust”, they said the C++ code was very OOP, so it was easier to port to swift.
vim vs. emacs
It doesn’t matter if you personally like emacs more, far fewer people use it.
Busuu looked promising.
Fastmail is really, really nice.

It’s not forced on you. Everything’s optional. As you might expect from a paid product.
