This is a great writeup I have to say, thanks for that and agreed on all parts tbh.

The word ‘democracy’ is far broader than most people assume it is as it encompasses like 300 different ‘forms of government’ at the very least. Having said that, the concept of democracy as it is expressed in the UK is deeply flawed as you laid out. Any real ‘resistance’ is met with incredible repression and violence. This system is broken to the point that it can not be repaired. It must be replaced entirely. But that’s the socialist in me, though when you lay out the fundemental rot like you did it’s difficult to come to any other conclusion.

Thanks for that, really. I’ll check it out. I’ve had my fair share of experiences so I have learned to trust the red flags. It just sucks when nobody else seems to notice them (though with this guy I am definitely not the only one noticing as I found out recently…)

Yea no. Anti-imperialist or ‘leftwing’ movements and gender rights/queer rights are just about the first things that are always targeted because they actually challenge the status quo AND they make for great targets. Especially trans people, because they make for a very small and vulnerable group of people. Many people in the ‘political center’ do not have enough of an issue when these groups are targeted to speak up loudly enough to stop it from happening. And then they’ll come for abortion rights, gay people, etc

Not hard evidence but I have heard of some scummy things he has done and he had several pretty bad moments already. But those are easily overlooked or ignored because of his charisma, which I seem to be immune to. Or repulsed by I guess.

There is this one guy I know in the org I’m with who gives me these vibes. I have been extremely open about this. I will not engage with him or talk with him. Everyone seems to like him for some reason, but every red flag for me was triggered for some reason. He comes off as extremely manipulative. As petty and vindictive. As emotionally immature. As ‘not safe to be around’ period. I have not a shred of doubt that he would be a domestic abuser.

It’s the impunity I hope they lose

I did see footage of a drone attacking an Iron Dome site. Looked legit for what it’s worth. Literally flew right up to it. Unfortunately no footage of the aftermath from what I saw. Must have been quite the explosion though. Anyway, this is hopeful news. Let’s hope they keep this up and force Israel to back the fuck off.
