yeah, for sure! Kumeta’s kinda got this vibes – https://mastodon.art/@Jontofski/110567571820780834
Not usually in for gradients, he sticks with cel, but also in a very pre-digital way he’s pixely via his high detail level + outlining each area of color. I find his art literally scintillating to look at
Eccentric Family was such a nice return to seeing Koji Kumeta’s art style.
I really enjoyed Katte ni Kaizou, Zetsubou Sensei as manga… and Kakushigoto as an anime (the ending music was super nostalgic for a time I never lived in)
I’ll try to “first three” anime and manga that I’m onto these days. I’m not sure they’re top, but they are easy to remember!
Anime —
Demon Slayer
Sugar Apple Fairy Tale
Jigoku Paradise
Manga —
Spy X Family
Kindergarten Wars
Martial Master Asumi (brand new actually)
Dungeon Meshi (almost over, actually! really really great stuff)
In the rest of my life, it’s busy with work, cooking, cleaning, laundry. The cycle rolls on and on.
It’s nice squeezing in reading books/print, watercoloring, napping.
So, at home, the yellow crystal works fine. At work, it may be the work firewall not liking too many calls to new servers from a web page.
And, at home, I can confirm the thumbnail behavior – I click to expand, it’s static… but the static image can be clicked to see the animation. It leaves the thread page and goes to the animated gif all on its lonesome.
