We should all pray that the LePen does not win the elections in April. Losing France as a supporter with quite some political weight would be a significant loss for Ukraine.

interesting video. Fucking badass, those crews.

he is a good guy. really wonder how this will go on.

i don’t get why Russia isn’t even sending basic food?! UA wouldn’t shoot the trucks…

Good article respectively blog post. Compact, no blah blah and almost no ads. Thank you for sharing.
Now I do see Matthias post from friendica also here on Lemmy. Also, now I see on lemmy this post that I’m replying to and that I made myself on friendica.
I still do not see on friendica the direct reply to OP that I had made on Lemmy. On friendica, I see only three direct replies to the original post. Significantly less than here on Lemmy.
I wonder : it should work and display in both directions, I guess? How is this cross platform viewing and replying correctly called in fediverse?

In piefed and in friendica you can follow people. I am not sure though, if I understood you right and if you want this.
Pleasure. I don’t know unfortunately which English speaking instances are very good.
One more thing: in order to make it work for you, you really have to dig through the manyfold settings and somehow make yourself understand how channels and all that stuff works. Best would be if you had somebody who explained it to you.
Friendica.
but it is not cleanly threaded like lemmy or piefed. a developer said they will improve this a bit in the next version , but certainly not to the level of threadiverse.
Anyway they have all kinds of technical fancy stuff regarding groups, hashtags, saved searches and whatever.

I understand; clever and useful version of a social bookmark system :D
Too bad, that you seem to have lost interest in bookmarking articles about Ukraine. Nowadays I have to read Reddit again, since i cannot read your and LaFinlandia’s posts any more. but well, thx again for the months when you provided those interesting links!
All the best wishes!

Luke Skywalker steered that one, for sure.

Clickbait. Headline is misleading.

It seems to me that this situation - an instance shutting down and community copies continuing to exist on other instances - has a potential frequency of a few times per year or more.
So, I wonder if there is no standard process, best practice, checklist, or any other recommendation by the development team of Lemmy?
Concretely:
if any stakeholder (user,…) discovers a zombie group copy, what shall he do?
Is there no measure to prevent the situation that users join zombie group copies again and again? Like the one I joined; it is still there. Each day other users could find it, be happy to join it and be frustrated by the resulting experiences.

teaser text from article: Brace for Oblivion follows several Ukrainian civilians as they become frontline soldiers. Through trenches, artillery fire, Bakhmut, and the loss of their comrades, their story now unfolds on the big screen.

Great to have found you again on !ukraine@lemmy.world! 👍👏 🌻 Thx for continuing your work! 🙏💪
ps.: but i just wondered: how can you write around 20 posts plus comments per day, over different communities? Do you actually fully read all the articles that you post here? Do you use AI for your posts? (personally, i’m not against AI, if used in the right way.)
Thank you very much for your reply, Rimu!
Actually I activated this option, but at least for me it is a pity that posts that I have opened or voted for also disappear. I want to actively decide for a post to go away. like an e-mail inbox.
But there is a 50%-workaround for me; I will just continue using Voyager with it’s built-in app specific hide feature.
Interesting issue; I use Voyager app, because there I can swipe away posts, and then they are hidden from me. I really miss this bad in Piefed-Web-UI, so I rarely use it.
For me, it is a must-feature that I can follow this kind of inbox-zero-workflow.
Now I know that it is possible in PieFed too, with the described options (see other comments). It seems to me, though, that up-/downvoting only to make the post hidden is not the ideal way (although it works for the individual user). Opening it to hide it is also not perfect; several interactions instead of one (like in Voyager), and maybe I do not want it to disappear after reading. Maybe I also want to vote but still keep it visible. Voyagers approach is best, it seems to me.
It would be great if, in Lemmy and PieFed Web, there was an efficient way to hide - independent of voting or reading. Maybe there is - and I don’t know it?!
(PS. : I just saw that this community here is dedicated to the lemmy.world-instance - not to lemmy-software or even PieFed. I hope it is okay to bring about this topic, here, anyway.)
