Hope they enjoy them. Those are the last rare minerals the US is gonna get.

It’s not quite a remake. The game still runs entirely on the Creation Engine. UE5 is used to render the graphics, which have been re-modeled and re-textured. Oblivion as it functioned in 2006 is under all those visual updates.
Is Luka in it? Asking for a friend.
It probably depends on what hooks you. I bounced off Left Hand of Darkness at first. Later read The Dispossessed (now my favorite book), The Lathe of Heaven, The Birthday of the World short story collection, and I’m trying to get into Left Hand again now, which I’m finding a bit easier to read after becoming comfortable with Le Guin’s writing style.
It’s objectively a good thing that at least some of the vast amounts of e-waste out there is getting repurposed, but it’s also funny as fuck that US tech companies are already in scavenger mode over China’s halted exports.
If Bethesda lawyers take down Skyblivion after like a decade of very public development because of this remaster, I’m never buying fucking anything that Microsoft has ownership of.
It’s classic early 90s edu-tainment, but I have very fond memories of 3D Dinosaur Adventure.
Gish was rad and had an amazing soundtrack by Estradasphere.
Haste! Goddamn do I dislike roguelikes, but this game stomps my bias into the ground. It is stupid satisfying to run so fast you fly over the landscape only to gracefully touch down on a slope, build up momentum, and take off again, dodging all kinds of shit the world throws at you. This might be the perfect Steam Deck bathroom break game for busy folks with ADHD.
Kind of hard to think of a use case for this. Not sure I’d ever trust a piece of tech that big, heavy, and expensive to just transport me into unpaved wilderness far from any of the resources it runs on.
I just woke up from a dream where I was sobbing deeply over the realization that my dad was somehow responsible for arming Israel, would likely have my friend deported, and that there was no talking him down from this and I’d have to kill him. Woke up with tears in my eyes remembering my dad’s just some old retired dude with zero political power and he fucking hates Israel.
When the fuck? I’ve played Civ VI for years and don’t remember white boy Ramses. They went nuts with leader DLC near the end, didn’t they?
She’s 20. I don’t blame her for not realizing this yet after a childhood of propaganda. Very unfortunate way to get radicalized, but it’s gonna happen fast for her.
I know way more people who would at least attempt to save my life in an emergency than I think are genuinely good people. But I do actually think that’s part of identifying a decent person. Empathizing with someone suffering in front of you and wanting to help is such a low standard for empathy that even untrained animals sometimes pass this bar. Empathizing with living things more broadly and outside of your personal bubble is a task that’s apparently too much to ask of most people I’ve met. Good way to gauge this is to get someone talking for a bit about the unhoused population of their hometown.
I’ve started sometimes watching old Dunkey videos when doing something that doesn’t require my full attention.
Aside from my group of friends from high school who were heavily invested in Aion, this is the only other instance I’ve heard the game mentioned. How long did you play? I think I gave it a go many years after launch when it went F2P and I could be an angel with a fucking mech suit. That was rad. But I fell off quickly.
Did you put them in your ass? Please update.
Stand-off guy
Figures. I went to the LA Hands Off rally anticipating liberal cringe, especially after reading their list of goals. Saw plenty of it in the attendees, but was actually surprised at how many of the speakers called out Democrats in front of a crowd full of mostly “blue no matter who” types.
