Thanks for the tip! I haven’t heard of that and I’ve been looking for something to keep track of this stuff as well.
Musician, nerd, anxious.

What’s the issue with Autism Speaks? I know I saw something negative about it a while back, but I never read into it. I haven’t been keeping up with much negative shit lately because there’s too much negative shit to keep up with.
Is there a specific technological limitation to the hair style lengths?
Excellent timing for me on finding this post, I am just about to switch back to Linux after a few months being stuck on Windows.
Anyone using this? What kind of “quirks” should I expect to see?
As long as we keep trying!
I think about that one often. It’s too easy to dismiss people because their attitudes don’t line up with our personal ideals, but even those people have some internal struggle going on. We all do. Not that it ever justifies terrible behavior, but it does warrant consideration.
If more people on this planet would make these considerations we would all be so much better for it.
His reasoning made perfect sense to me, I don’t get the “blackmail / bribe” stuff. Since the very beginning of his project he has been quite vocal about not wanting to cause any sort of harm (financially) to CodeWeavers because they do actually contribute quite a lot to the Wine project whereas Whisky did not.
That does sound crazy. I can’t imagine killing someone with my car and receiving what amounts to a traffic citation. Accidents happen of course and there should be accounting for that, but damn, yeah that law should be examined.
Perhaps that’s part of the reason so many drivers in Colorado are so fucking terrible? I’ve lived all over the US and Colorado has the most aggressive and dangerous drivers I’ve dealt with.
I’d like to see more posts like this honestly, I know reading these things aren’t for everyone, but having the actual document and (hopefully) the discussion of it is exactly how I’d like to be getting my news and information these days. I’m tired of our filtered world.
Some serious judicial indictment of the federal government to be found in there regarding the disregard of the constitution.
“The government is asserting a right to stash away residents of this country in foreign prisons without the semblance of due process that is the foundation of our constitutional order."
Yeah.
Yup, I have to repeat Hanlon’s Razor daily, it’s sort of become a mantra.
Could this whole situation really be as simple as the largest scale “pump-and-dump” ever?
It is absolutely baffling that people don’t realize that people are the product. I’ve had some folks tell me that they understand and “don’t care” because the service is “free” or whatever, but then they get angry and freaked out when the platform knows exactly what they’re thinking, or at least seems to know.
There’s definitely a deficit in understanding and education on what corporate social media really does.
My partner and I have been ogling much of their wares for the last year or so. I could easily spend $3,000 on the website (you know, if I had $3,000 to blow on clothes).
That’s how I do it too, or if I’m lazy I throw the strap in a shirt pocket that has a button. Works well for me and I have washed my Trail Loop like that many times over the past couple of years. I don’t run them through the dryer though.
I can see where glass aesthetics could be cool, if it actually has some amount of depth to it. I mean, I feel like the current style of iOS is already kind of a frosted translucent type of glass, but it’s all flat with no shadows, reflection, or texture. Honestly, I miss buttons.
There’s a lot about the old days of skeuomorphic iOS that I miss. I’d love to see a return to some of the design elements.
I don’t have any suggestions, but I’m curious what “design and development” flaws you see as major blockers with Lemmy?
I’ve been running it as my main microblogging account for a year and it’s been extremely solid and uses so little resources that it could be run on a 486 processor (actually, I’ve seen someone doing exactly that). It works well with most of the clients I’ve tried (on iOS). And the dev is just a super friendly and responsive person.
My neurologist has been throwing every test at me and so far all they’ve come up with is vestibular migraine, which I’ve had complicated migraine my whole life and never had the symptoms I do now (that started out of nowhere about a year ago). Which include ataxia, nystagmus, tremors, and a whole host of other neurological symptoms…
So not diagnosed with MSA, but empathic to your situation. I would have never guessed how much more debilitating neurological conditions could get after having spent 40 years with migraines that would sometimes keep me in bed and in agony for days at a time every month of every year.
The muscle weakness, loss of coordination, tremors, and general bodily dysfunction disables me more than those horrible headaches did and I previously couldn’t have imagined that would be true. And all this just as I finally got my head pain stuff under control! It’s enough to make me wonder if the solution to that may have caused the new problems, but that’s another thing.
Anyway, I can’t speak to your specific condition, but I know neurological dysfunction all too well and if you ever need to talk about it, my ears (and eyes) still work (sort of), for now… (gallows humor, can’t help it).
