Maybe one of these is interesting? I have no actual experience with them though:
https://github.com/DumbWareio/DumbBudget
They should all be self-hostable.
Edit: I don’t know of these all match your criteria. Maybe finance looks pretty Sleek imho. I just dread the thought of exporting my transactions and importing them because my bank is forking horrible w.r.t. integrations.
And logging in every time to do a CSV export is just annoying.
Edit 2: formatting
Sorry I don’t fully understand your question. Forced/hooked on what exactly?
The Xbox eco system?
Switching between consoles is a costly switch which will likely not pay off the price hike. That is assuming the competitor you’re switching to also doesn’t do a price hike shortly after you decide to switch.
They can switch to games from other publishers or other platforms ( e.g.: Nvidia ) instead of gamepass. But that would depend if the game is on there to begin with ( which is also an argument against game pass ). If all your friends are playing cod or Minecraft there isn’t really an alternative to switch to either.
Switching from Windows to Linux is ‘harder’ because people think it’s all terminals and magic and difficult. It generally isn’t nowadays. But there isn’t an initial cost to that. You don’t need to buy new hardware, there’s just a learning curve which doesn’t have to be that steep. But I have a technical background so could be biassed on that.
People can still buy games second hand or through the various discount websites I suppose. But I suppose you’ll still feel the price hike there as well. 10% off on a 60 or 80€ game is still the difference between paying 54 and 72.
Note: I actually didn’t read the article, but only the headline. So I could be completely beside the point.
That’s one way to try and shift your audience to your game pass subscription I guess.
Ah nuts. Just as I switched back to Linux on my new rig. ( Dabbled one win11 for a month, but what a forking shirtshow )
Still means fuck all as long as he holds his Tesla shares. All you’re doing is making him more money by making the shares go up again.
Drive the stock into the forking ground.
Adding in icon in your name will help you differentiate wether a recruiter bothered to message you or if they just sent out mass messages to a ton of people. If the icon is there. It’s not personal.
Huh TIL.
I never considered trying to install a package from a local file through apt, but always dpkg. End result is the same of course. The web suggests dpkg rather than apt as well ( or at least the pages I ended up on ).
What was it? I’m curious!
I’d rather have that email than being ghosted by the company you applied at. Which happens more often than not.
I uninstalled it after the whole security debacle discussion on GitHub. But the browser was quite enjoyable to use indeed.
Huh. Didn’t even know about this. Maybe I’ll browse their episode list to see if there are some episodes that are interesting.
Here’s hoping the jets are better than the Fyra trains we bought.

Currently have a Volkswagen and in comparison to the Tesla app/car infotainment:
I asked about it in a dealership ( the 12v battery ) and they say it’s probably not even related to the 12v battery. The app can’t connect to the car sometimes when it’s attached to a fucking charging point.
I’m not unhappy with the VW car, but the software compared to the Tesla is wildly underwhelming in that regard. Tesla I could just walk up to the car, get in, and leave. With the VW the car only starts waking up the moment you get in the car. You can stand next to it talking for 20mins and once you get in the infotainment still needs to fucking boot. It doesn’t take long, but it is annoying ( to me ).
Build quality, comfort, … the VW is miles ahead of tesla. But software-wise I feel they are still lagging behind. It also feels like the compute power in their id5 ( based on a rental I drove around for 3 months ) is some cheap tablet you get for free with a subscription to a magazine which is very disappointing considering the car costs 50k.
I agree that the Tesla software feels pretty mature and stable ( infotainment/app ).
Note: wouldn’t buy a Tesla either or trade in this VW for one.
Source: drove around a Tesla company car for a while
I have no experience with other brands besides the VW and the Tesla.
Looks like it’s not the same then! I stand corrected.
It’s called ‘oliebollen’ in Belgium and the Netherlands. They also have derivatives with apple inside and some other ones.
Not sure which came first though ( us or be/nl ).
Roasted butter does sound better than the literal translation from dutch ( oil balls ).
Edit: the wiki page references them being invented in the us. The wiki page for the Dutch/Belgian variant mentions Spanish/Portuguese Jews when fleeing the the Netherlands from the Spanish inquisition.
At least I think they’re the same as roasted butter
For a moment there I read estados stupidos on your map
shrugs in linux
Articles like this and the fact they’re still trying to get recall back was reason enough for me to switch again.
