  • thinking about this, i’m wondering if moore’s law gave this idea and/or justification to certain developers that they could continue to balloon their software requirements indefinitely, and they’d never bog down computers more than they already were. apparently nobody ever expected we’d hit a point where PCs were powerful enough and our tasks simple enough to still be able to be used in some fashion with minimal upgrades 10-15 years after manufacturing date, and yet everything still runs like shit all across the board whether its that old or much newer.

  • I was curious aswell, so I looked into it, and it seems to be some super decentralized spontaneous thing with a new subreddit by the same name at the center of it. interesting stuff, because it popped up only 9 days ago, and seems to have already managed to find at least one person willing to actually organize a protest in each state, yet the rhetoric is completely against political organizations helping or taking credit, rather than individuals. I saw a post from Georgia where they were still trying to decide on where to meet though, so i’m not sure how successful this will end up being. I hope there is more to the story than this
