Same. Thinking about it now, this can probably seriously challenge a kid’s faith in their abilities, and rob them of a sense of accomplishment.
Oh well, the two of us turned out alright. Right?

It’s not November just yet?
*Hey grlfriend, come on in. I live in/on a bed with my parents and friends. It’s not weird, I promise"
I’ll get the house, you the spaceship and we swap every other year or so?
Apparently a foldable OLED screen is, typically expected to last at least 200.000 folds. That’s more than a 100 folds/day for 5 years. I’d take my chances on one, I think.
I feel bad for the “little fella”. With wings heavy with snow he doesn’t stand a chance, does he…
Sandy is lucky to have you and you’re lucky to have her!
They just know that trying to appease, or make a deal with, a country where a blabbering idiot is behind the wheel is pointless.
Poking fun at a culture that severely oppresses women/people and where honor killings are a common phenomenon is not indicative of islamophobia, in my humble opinion.
Also, islam is not a race.
Black swans are black because they’re 78% antimatter. In addition to appearing black the antimatter causes their bodies to occasionally display unexpected, and highly unpredictable, physical behaviors. One of these behaviors is hovering, much like a swanicopter would.
I recently went to a viewing of a place with a bathroom in that style. Interestingly, the owner had decided he needed a shower cabinet in addition to the bathtub/shower combo in the bathroom, but as there was no more room in there he/she placed the shower cabinet in the bedroom, next to the bed. On shag pile carpet. There was mold everywhere, and the carpet in the bedroom kinda looked like something that had been used as a rag in a machine workshop for a decade or two.
I read that as Viking Owl, and I felt it made sense.
Pexip, comes to mind. Based in Norway.
Like others have mentioned, those of us in the know probably don’t need much help picking alternatives here, as we’re likely to know what the options are and how they differ. For the regular Jane and Joe to even stand a chance in a pretty confusing landscape it needs to be as simple as possible to get going with an alternative, or else I fear most people will just fall back on the well known, well marketed options.
I suggested to a non-techy coworker (a Reddit user) he’d give Lemmy a shot, and when I asked him how it went a couple of days later he said he got confused during the sign up process, “what the heck is an instance, which one should I pick?”.
Nice work! Gohug, is that short for something, or does it mean what it reads, i.e. go hug the EU?
They’re riding a Panzerkampfwagen IV.
Has anyone asked him his opinion on the different cars? It’d be interesting to hear, me thinks.
Ah, I forgot to mention that I live in Norway, and over here debit cards started taking over from check use in the 80s.
Elephants are not allowed to walk free in the streets of Chicago, and barbers are not allowed to consume a bottle of Jack Daniels before going to work. I assume a bottle of anything else is fine.
A plug-in hybrid is cool, to me, in that I can charge it and use it as pure EV for my daily commutes, but if I forget/am unable to charge it it don’t have to worry for a second. And I don’t need to worry about the range on my 500km roundtrip to my cabin (full charge + full tank equals ~1100km range on my Prius).
Also, fuel consumption is relatively low, so whenever I do have to burn fuel I’m not breaking the bank.
