They will be coming to your courthouses too. We will have to be organizing citizen barricades to keep them from disappearing our neighbors.
I live here, and I actually called the Sheriff and yelled at her about this. She said these ICE Nazis showed her deputies ID and warrants, and that she couldn’t stop them from entering. She has met with the judges who actually have the power to determine who is allowed entry, asking if they want her office to stop feds in the future. They were still considering it as of yesterday.
First I’m hearing of Kneecap. Up the resistance!
The works of Shel Silverstein, especially if your friend likes the devil’s lettuce. “The Great Smoke Off” and “The Perfect High”.
Check out the Ruger Mini 14 Ranch. It’s likely available in your state.
I don’t think Afghanistan is a good analogy, but “the troubles” are. Also Rwanda. I don’t understand how anyone can call Trump a fascist, and realize how popular firearms are with his supporters… and maintain a stance that reasonable people shouldn’t arm themselves. If there is a time to pursue gun control, it surely isn’t right now.
I think the US provides Israel a lot of indulgences. Israel gets things that the US doesn’t have partly because it’s cheaper to provide them to a small state, but more importantly because they have to provide them. It is part of what props up the state of Israel by giving them internal/domestic support.
Epstein didn’t Epstein himself.
Hmm, perhaps. Good point, but I’ve flown enough that I should have seen someone flagged for overweight bags.
Cabin bags have a size limit, but I’ve never seen one weighed.
Well described. I had this feeling for like 40 years before I really understood that it wasn’t like a personal failing. Treating it now, and wish I had done so sooner.
We’ll see. Ending qualified immunity means they can be charged, but doesn’t mean that they will be charged. It’s a step in the right direction, but the system will continue fighting to protect its own.
What is drugs? China isn’t unique in its attitudes, and they aren’t immune to being wrong in policy sometimes.
Empty rhetoric.
I appreciate you typing that out and I agree that it will take time and more “cross pollination” for attitudes to change in China. I am dubious though of the argument that China’s attitudes (towards cannabis and drugs) are unique to it’s own history. I think they are basically on track with much of the rest of the world over a contemporary period of time. As you say, even China has a historical relationship with cannabis as medicine. China is also certainly not the only nation with negative attitudes towards cannabis currently. It is only recently that the US and some European countries have been relaxing about it. I have met many people who lump cannabis in with heroin and crack as simply “drugs”. It’s just been due to propaganda and ignorance.
I’m aware of the history and in particular the US DEA role in Asia. It sounds from your comment that we are in agreement around the fundamental ethics of the issue. That’s all I’m really saying. I accept that the present is built on the foundations of the past, and that some things change more slowly than others. I haven’t smoked weed in over 20 years, but that doesn’t mean I think anyone should be punished for it. When I travel I’m more concerned with the quality of the local beer :)
I get the racism around drug laws in the US, but racist laws aren’t the only kind of bad law. It’s whatever though. I’m not here on some “China bad” bs. I just don’t think anyone should be punished for smoking weed.
