Goblins will see you bring about world peace and say, “he’s afraid to fall in battle”
The constant barrage of unfortunate events.
Went through a breakup while unemployed and was facing homelessness since my cost of living practically doubled instantly. The cats were hers and I miss them every day.
Got a new job and my car broke down and died on the first day of work.
Trying to move to somewhere affordable but I definitely need a car for where I’m looking to go. Found a car but it’s 5-6 months wait time for the factory order, so I continue to pay insane rent by myself in the meantime, and look for a used car to maintain my good standing with the insurance company.
Got a brand new bed a few weeks ago. Yesterday noticed ants climbing all over the wall right next to it. Luckily they weren’t in the bed but I had to move it to an inconvenient spot for peace of mind, and worry about more ants coming back. There’s no food or anything even close to the bedroom.
Every time someone moves out of this apartment building the new people who move in have multiple dogs. There are more dogs than people living here. They’re constantly barking and howling and setting each other off and nobody does anything about it. I can’t escape the noise anywhere in my unit.
I just want to get out and start the rest of my life in a new place already.
Consider getting a line of credit to increase your buying power and in case you have repair costs in the future.
Absolutely get a set of winter tires, not just for safety in Canadian winters, but also because it should lower the cost of insurance. Do not skip the winter tires.
About 6 months when I was 19 years old. 3 months in I tried to book a week of vacation 3 months in advance (they asked for at least 1 month notice) and the power tripping substitute manager declined it immediately without checking the schedule or anything. As far as I remember there was no “first come first serve” BS, he just wanted to be a douche about it.
So after another 3 months the time came and I went on the most epic camping trip with 8 friends and had the time of my life.
Came back to civilization to a full voicemail inbox of my direct manager asking where I was, sighing, and eventually saying I was fired for it.
I regret nothing.
Blood, sweat, and tears went into making that “cake”
You could try hiring someone on Fiverr. There are plenty of freelancers looking to take on work, and they should give you some level of customer service, and set your expectations for what actually needs to be done.
I didn’t mind it on first playthrough, but it can be tedious after that. Thankfully we get fast travel and Torrent to help.
SotE was about the same or worse for this, especially the
finger bell areas. Despite how cool they looked, there is so much space with almost nothing in them, and the most annoying enemies in the game. Abyssal Woods is similar.
Bake your own bread. It costs less, tastes better, and there are no plastic bags involved except for re-using ones you already have.
Check out Dome Keeper. Mine resources to buy upgrades and protect your dome from waves of aliens. There are lots of game modes and modifiers to get different experiences each run.
Getting emails faster than you can read and respond to them, and they are all urgent exceptions.
Meetings that could have been emails, wasting your time while the real emails continue to stack up.
Askng important questions (via email) and getting ignored, or only some of the questions addressed.
Visits from the newest suit talking about how great their new ideas will be, just like the last one who said the same thing and was replaced after 6 months.
It is a lot like the movie Office Space, except in current times instead of one job you’re doing the work of 2.5 people and making less than Peter did in 1999.
Great post/format. It feels like I’m a kid reading the gaming news magazines at the grocery store again.
I’ve been playing Ori and the Will of the Wisps. I like it and the changes they made since Blind Forest, but I’m also feeling frustrated by repeatedly getting lost, even with quest markers. It’s tiring to waste so much time traversing the map just to find out I have to go back… somewhere else. Never had this problem when playing Blind Forest.
Waiting… (2005)
I’m interested in knowing the titles you’re playing, if you care to list them.
Black metal - - - > witch house
I got burnt out on the new black metal I was hearing, it was all too dissonant and samey to me. Still enjoy the older stuff I grew up with, though.
Witch house has a similar raw energy and dark/sad/dreamy mood that I like in my music.
It’s hard to pick just one. Electric Wizard - Funeralopolis is absolutely a contender. Here are a few more that stand out for me:
Primitive Man - Victim (NSFW)
Katharsis - Wytchdance (the riff starting at 3:57, relentless and hypnotic. This band always made me think of Destruction but much darker)
Necrophagia - Dead Skin Slave (a little cheesy but the rhythm changes in the second half go hard)
Spawn of Possession - A Presence Inexplicable (the slowdown in the breakdown then gradual tempo increase, chef’s kiss)
Heaviest live show I’ve ever witnessed
Chrono Break
I wrote to the show Video & Arcade Top 10 and they sent me a copy of Super Mario 64.
It’s a tough question to answer. Generally I just prefer “sad” music no matter what my mood is, but I can’t deny feeling happy every time I hear Van Halen - Panama. I wouldn’t say sad music makes me sad in the same way.
I also think it’s hard to put a lot of music into emotional categories. Sometimes it’s not obvious, or it checks multiple boxes, or has a different meaning depending when you listen to it in life.
Sounds like you are a couple steps ahead of where I’m trying to be. I don’t need many amenities or anything, just some peace and fucking quiet. Outdoor space for a garden would be a dream come true.
