I think even a relaunch with only the first campaign at the start could revitalize the community. I’d wager there are plenty of people who would want to relive the glory days of Guild Wars 1.
There seems to be a market for classic mmorpgs. I wonder why Guild Wars didn’t already receive the Wow Classic treatment.
I switched from Windows to Kinoite last year because it seemed to be the one distro that actually cared about stability. The first distro I used was Ubuntu 7.04 and until Kinoite I always viewed the Linux desktop as a bit of a joke because it always broke every other update. Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, it didn’t matter which distro I tried, after a few months something broke. I don’t tolerate this on my primary computer so I always switched back to Windows. This is the first time I have ever used a Linux distribution where I can run an major update without worrying if I still have a GUI after the next reboot. So I consider immutable distros a huge success. I don’t think I would still be using Linux without them.

There is the unfortunately abandoned MorroUI.

Oh look, another personal attack. 🤷
If you didn’t care, you wouldn’t comment. I haven’t read a single convincing argument by you. In fact you haven’t made an argument at all. Instead you immediately resorted to personal attacks.
“If dessalines put their personal politics aside and stopped micromanaging their instance to push an agenda, we’d probably be on like v3 of Lemmy by now”
This post directly calls Dessalines out on not working enough on Lemmy and instead focusing on moderating his instance. I say, telling someone else how they should spend their free time is pure entitlement.
You don’t like their modding and their ideology. That is a perfectly reasonable position. Your options are “stop using their instance”, “stop using their software”, or “fork their software and continue developing it without them”. I chose option one and no longer engage with anything on .ml and the likes.
Also, calling me “very daft in verbal aptitude” only debases yourself. Name calling will never convince someone of your position.
Just nuke your account and treat reddit as a read-only website. I use an alternative frontend so I can still follow the few niche communities that aren’t available on Lemmy without giving reddit any of my data.
Its about how climate change will shift the climatic conditions of German cities towards the southwest, mostly towards central France.
None of what you said is in any way related to my comment. Still, FOSS doesn’t give you any say in how the original project is developed. You especially have no say in how these developers spent their time. The developers built something for themselves and released it under a FOSS license in case somebody else finds it useful. You aren’t owed anything. Your words might not even worthy of consideration to them. You can however create your own version of Lemmy. The license grants you these rights.
Why aren’t you developing it then? Whether you agree with their modding decisions or not, it still doesn’t entitle you to their time. He could stop developing Lemmy, delete the repository, and become a carpenter tomorrow and that would be completely fine. Dessalines literally doesn’t owe you anything.
If anyone was looking for the exact quote its from The Two Towers, Chapter 2 “The Riders of Rohan”.
“’Riders!’ cried Aragorn, springing to his feet. ‘Many riders on swift steeds are coming towards us!’
“’Yes,’ said Legolas, ‘there are one hundred and five. Yellow is their hair, and bright are their spears. Their leader is very tall.’
“Aragorn smiled. ‘Keen are the eyes of the Elves,’ he said.
“’Nay! The riders are little more than five leagues distant,’ said Legolas.
“’Five leagues or one,’ said Gimli; ‘we cannot escape them in this bare land. Shall we wait for them here or go on our way?’
Just for completeness sake, the EU is currently in the process of introducing a similar system called ETIAS.
If you really do, blend the dried leaves from multiple plants. The psychoactive ingredients can be unevenly distributed throughout the plant. This means that you could unintentionally overdose without changing the amount you take.
