Can’t be as bad as my boss. “server-01” Even that could be worse. I’ve worked with servers named Mothra and Godzilla, but I was not in the eyetea dept.

Ooo. That’s ugly. Way to go.
The title was a quote from an article about that crazy kennedy and autism. Not surprised nobody noticed. I want to ignore that guy too …
I work with various web consoles that can go to sleep at terrible times. The worst is iDRAC during an OS install.
Um … This doxing threat seems like a really dumb move, on par with daring Anonymous to take you down. Really, if you want to play Internet hardball, there are folks that would love to show you how it works. (Not me!)
Win11 Enterprise 23h2. Running mspaint.exe from an admin cmd prompt opens this copilot tainted thing. Its all good. Fuk this whole version anyway. … I’ve got VMs and other machines. Working around it for now.
I switched to Metapad years ago. Drop-in replacement for Notepad.
But MSPaint. I could cry. What have they done? And it ain’t that easy to get the old version to run on Win11. I’m currently unsuccessful.
Its not vellum. Think back to science class. The fancy roll up maps and charts. That fabric stuff. Not quite as heavy as the big world maps tho.
You’ve made a solid suggestion there. If I did sell it in any way, I’d probly recoup my costs and then release it under some free license.
Some of the older folks here took Drafting classes in high school. I had all the tools it took to do this, but not a shred of the skill. A drafter was like a junior engineer. A whole career path that no longer exists.
That’s why I shared it. Just printing it would have taken the finest gear. I figured this community would see the beauty in science … and how much we used to treasure it. An assload of work indeed.
There are a couple copies for sale. About $150 online. Etsy, ebay. This one means a bit to me personally as well.
I have it in IRL.
41" x 28". There’s all sorts of detail. It was for nerds of the radio age. The prior owner was a hacker of his day, a radar tech, ham radio operator, and dangerously careless electrician. Much respect to him and his service.
Yup. That ia cool.
I am so with you there. Like, why on god’s green earth, would this man write about his sister’s boobs? And I’m lost on what sort of point he was even trying to make. (K … its fake.) But I do understand that this is all sort of revolting. Got it.
I’ve never heard it called scream test before. Funny term.
This is a normal part of any decomm process. Turn it off. Leave it that way for a month before you do anything else. Sometimes things do get turned right back on. So it goes back to Billing …
Win11 Paint annoys the hell out of me. This is it. We are breaking up. I’m going back to old Paint.
I ditched Notepad for Metapad years ago.
Winco. Goes as low as $2 lbs all the time. Get the whole thing, not cuts. Pork, sadly for the pigs, is cheap.
Right. And you figure that out by who built the app. Oh, that was that one guy. He always used sql02. And then everything there was migrated to tho old NAS. And then the new CTO guy had us move it to S3. And then that other guy needed it, and we restored it to M$sQLExpress on the intern’s desktop. So that’s where its at now. Over there. In the corner. With the guy that doesn’t get paid.
… Was it important?
