Clearly, the Trump administration is trying to repair that damage.
… that THEY caused! This is the problem with repairing any damage. It’s all damage they created against the recommendations of every expert along the way who told them that exactly what’s happening would happen. The ineptitude and arrogance of this administration is why investors are leaving. George W Bush was an idiot, but even he knew better than to fuck with what Trump’s fucking with. If I were an investor, foreign or not, the US would be a considered complete gamble until this guy and his whole cult of personality are excised from any positions of power.
… after losing to a blatant con man fascist
… AGAIN! That’s the really sad part. They lost a second time and still don’t get it. They’re probably going to take either the House or Senate in the midterms, but they’ll refuse to understand that it’s only because they’re running against Evil. If the don’t win anything in the midterms they’ll have deserved the L.
First question, and it’s important: Are you Doc Brown?
Seriously though:
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools. — Douglas Adams
Both the Dow & S&P are down around 8% from this time last month. Dow’s down 7 YTD, and S&pis down 10. Green today, red for the year so far.
And it’s not like we don’t know what caused it.
You can actually see the future take on Hegseth in this op-ed. One third of the article is how great a leader Trump is, and Hegseth could’ve been. One third is stale Biden-bashing talking points, and the last third is how fucked up things are at the Pentagon. In it he says Trump demands results (unlike “some other administrations”), and then lists a number of former secretaries he’s fired for “not meeting his expectations.” Completely overlooking that many of them resigned over some scandal, at least one left because he said Trump was an “fucking idiot,” and the rest were fired for telling him what he didn’t want to hear. This is the history the party has decided on, and Hegseth will become another name on that list.
Fair point. I feel like RFK can do more damage. At least with the military, generals and admirals can refuse unlawful orders.
Never assume Trump can’t go lower.
There is a wonderful schadenfreude to NPR breaking this! We should all go donate money in Pete’s name!
Was just gonna say if yer Russian, yer a shoe-in!
Fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
That’s a fair point, but if he messes up enough, and more importantly embarrassingly enough, the loyalty won’t matter. Can’t make the King(s) look bad.
… so 60000 families are going to be unhoused.
TBH, of all the unqualified and under qualified members of this cabinet, Hegseth has the be the most unqualified. I don’t know if Vegas has odds on which cabinet member goes first, but Drunk Pete has to have something close to 1:1.
I would imagine they have some beautiful, world class couches in the Vatican. I can only imagine what the Pope walked in on!
Normally that’s hyperbole, but yeah. Next he’ll say it was a joke, because suuuure it was.
I still get triggered when I hear people say they figured he would be better for the economy “since he was a business man.” Way too many people buy into the “rich therefore smart” myth.
Oh sites like that are absolutely still useful! Especially for older distros or when you need a specific version that you can’t find for whatever reason.
All of these are reasons I will look to move my business to a competitor.
