Reddit@lemmy.world•How do I make a new reddit account if all temp emails are “invalid”?English
1·16 小时前You can’t anymore and even if you did, you will get shadowbanned instantly. There’s no way unless you use the well known ones, i guess proton works but not the aliases though.

DeGoogle Yourself@lemmy.ml•Should I delete my old Google account?English
5·16 小时前Eh, they already have your data and i doubt they actually delete it. it’s better to just keep it and use it for things that you already used it for.
Countless times lol, it used to be aired on a channel i used to watch when i had TV, like every couple of months.

Atheism@lemmy.world•Am I still an atheist if I consider existence to be God?English
1·17 小时前According to my dictionary, it says the word means : Someone who does not believe in the existence of a god. So i don’t think so.
https://www.freac.org/ is a nice program if you’re going to do that.
Openshot? Did you check this site https://alternativeto.net/ for alternatives? If all you do is cutting videos, then maybe losslesscut would be good for you too.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Questions about Pixelfed/rest of the FediverseEnglish
6·2 天前Btw Piefed has a feature where you could blur posts by bots. Does that exist on Lemmy or the one you have?
Anyway, I usually browse for the ones i subscribed to but i do check out from all fediverse to see if there’s any new ones to subscribe to. I don’t see any recommendations or algorithms here.
Both can be hijacked. Although i never heard of someone saying this before except in Syria’s case which is kinda true. I mean when those “revolutions” get hijacked, doesn’t mean the people on the ground are faking it or they’re just on the streets for fun. It’s just that most people can be herded by cheap slogans and stuff like that and usually have the mentality of putting the blame on a single person instead of an entire system as if one person could control everything which is absolutely impossible. The Syria’s case was different since Russians and pro-Assads were probably the main funders of those who fueled that narrative. Anyway i am just rambling here. I know this is a meme.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do you find Slavic accents pleasant, grating or neutral, and does your perception of Melania and her pronunciation have anything to do with your verdict on this matter?English
4·6 天前I am not native English speaker but the first two sound pretty nice, almost close to native? The last one gives off the slavic accent at the very beginning. All of them sound okay and don’t have the ridiculous accent of slavs you see in movies and films.

Home@lemmy.zip•Lemmy.zip & Piefed.zip Server Update November 2026English
4·6 天前Thank you. It’s really a headache to run a server or a website these days from what I’m reading. Has it always been like that, excluding the price of hosting ofc?

Metal@lemmy.world•10 Metal Albums That Are Actually Scary-SoundingEnglish
2·6 天前I wouldn’t call it scary but Embrace of Thorns - Praying for Absolution has a strange atmosphere and vocals to me.
Not American but what about competing billionaires, those who have different interest etc.? they are not single group, same to everywhere, or perhaps a show to give the people the illusion of choice like Pepsi and Cola or that they’re in democracy. Wasn’t there a research paper that called US is basically ruled by an oligarchy? It wasn’t some kind of a conspiracy site but a research group or something like that.

Technology@lemmy.world•Reddit is becoming "a logged-in-only experience"English
1·8 天前Yea I do remember the donald, they weren’t really incel though, just a political sub if i am not wrong. Incels had their own subs as well that got purged at the time along with many ones as well. What was good about Reddit back then was that the platform allowed freedom to a large extent, didn’t bother as long as it wasn’t something in your face that violated the rules, either that, or they didn’t care back then.

Technology@lemmy.world•Reddit is becoming "a logged-in-only experience"English
11·10 天前True. For me, the quality there pretty much degraded around 2015-6 or at least that was when i started to notice the increase of bot use and such, but some would say it was even before that when one of its founder died. Even after that period it was still tolerable compared to what we have now.
Maybe it will get updated later. Btw, old Reddit still works with accounts. There’s something in settings that tells it to switch to new Reddit and it’s usually enabled by default.
Are you talking about those short reddit links? the only way is to go through them on new reddit then switch back to old.
cybermonkey@piefed.zipto
Technology@lemmy.world•Reddit is becoming "a logged-in-only experience"English
11·10 天前Not defending that site at all, but not sure who’s to blame more here, Reddit or the whole AI shitshow?

privacy@lemmy.ca•Governments are hacking people with ‘zero-click’ spyware by showing them online adsEnglish
3·10 天前Definitely. Just additional information for users who use Windows, Simplewall which is basically a GUI of the built-in firewall of Windows but it does its job well. I’m sure there’s something like that for Linux too. Hostman is also a good tool although not sure if it’s still getting updated where you can put blocked IPs, ones used with Ublock for example, into the host file of Windows. And lastly, from your router, but this method I have never tried it and neither mine support it.

privacy@lemmy.ca•Governments are hacking people with ‘zero-click’ spyware by showing them online adsEnglish
22·11 天前So using Ublock Origins is mandatory for staying safe on the web, but i guess most people here are probably using it. Btw this isn’t something new, malvertising has always been a thing.

But it’s the same thing. You keep the account but don’t use unless for the things you already used it because they already have that data anyway and like i said i doubt they delete it, not just google but most popular services are like that; you’re just deleted from the public records but in their servers all your data is probably still there and who knows, profiting from it. Instead of deleting and never being able to access your account, you can just keep it.
