How does Claude attribution appear in the first place? I’ve written code with it before and it never shows up in GitHub.

I also pay for products and services that spend a portion of the revenue on artists. Just about anything I buy at a physical store with packaging had to hire an artist to design that packaging. Anyone that produces advertisements had to hire artists to create them. Anyone with a website that comprising of more than stock photos would’ve had to hire an artist for the visuals. Paying for any of these indirectly puts money into the hands of artists. I want the money I spend to continue doing so.
It’s not just about artists though. At the end of the day, what I care about is that the money I spend goes towards improving the lives of as many people as possible.

Bold of you to assume I’ll remember the email after writing this down.

Programming@programming.dev•do we need documentation in the age of AI?English
1·23 天前In my opinion, the purpose of documentation isn’t just documenting. It’s a contract. It tells you what parts of the API are meant to be user-facing and that the devs will try to keep backwards compatible from one release to the next.

Autism@lemmy.world•did anyone else remove mask since pandemic and realize people all stink?English
2·1 个月前I don’t think it’s exercise related. Even back when I competed in some fairly cardio-heavy sports (~8h per week of cardio/endurance work on top of regular strength training), medical masks still felt incredibly suffocating.
The problem is that all the rules contradict each other in one way or another. If you know the reason for the rule, then you know which ones take precedence in each situation. Otherwise, you’re just making arbitrary choices on which ones to follow and which to break, and if you can just arbitrarily break a rule with no obvious consequences, then why bother ever following it?
No, I mean the term “soft drink”. I’ve never heard anyone use “pop” here.
Is this a Montreal specific thing? We use soft drink to refer to things like Coke, Sprite, Crush, etc. I’ve never heard it used in the context of alcohol-free beverages.

A little too good. The hard part is putting an end to the focus. The workaround to that is to purposely maintain a state of half-focus so that breaking away is easier, but then I’m not actually focused.

Technology@lemmy.world•Google has started encrypting its search results' URLs with "goto?=" links for logged out sessions and/or scrapers ( 28 August, 2026 )English
17·2 个月前I got this too a few weeks ago and couldn’t find any information on how to convert the address back to normal. I guess it makes sense if most people don’t get those results. My fix was to just use a different search engine.
fyi, I got it while I was logged in.
It’s in the instance description: “A Canadian-run community, geared towards Canadians, but all are welcome!”
It’s hard to properly gauge the response online since social media is so personalised and everyone sees different things. So I don’t know the scale of it, but I can assure you that at least in the communities I follow, there was a similar response to renaming the Gulf of Mexico, as well as many other things that Google has done that we don’t like.
This is far from the first time we’ve had a call to boycott Google. This one just happens to be in a Canadian community because it’s closer to us.
One is closer to us.
Does anyone know of alternatives that give public transit directions? For desktop and/or Android.

31·4 个月前I think preventative medicine is where it would shine the most. There’s so much data that we can capture with little additional cost. It just wouldn’t be data that a human can reasonably make use of.
The problem is mainly who we can trust with this data.

If I ask an LLM to do something, the commit message is usually just the prompt. If it’s for code I wrote myself, my process is to take the message, read it over, then edit appropriately before running
git commitmyself. It seems that this last step is what does it.
