How do the sith come up with these names anyways?
Are they always given by the master?
And what is the reason for doing this at all?
What does Darth Vader even mean?

What a great day to be a grayjay user lol
lmao
The entire thread here is that answer, you need only an aspiration.
I’m saying I don’t agree with it being specific things
This assumes that it means specific things like enjoying flowers, its leaving behind the boyish immaturity.
Not only does a definition exist in various forms, or at least enough of one to figure it out but the assumption I’m making is that none of us meet the criteria and should aim to be better people.
The point isn’t about moving the goalpost so you win, it is meeting up with a better standard.
You are entirely right in my opinion, society is pretty sucky at making things right for people and so for now this concept of cultivating a mature personality aimed at men is as close as we can get for a simpler way to describe to a general group of people
This a good one
It is a word to describe a state of being, and a state of being that is a good one to have when understood correctly. Like for instance you probably don’t like talking to immature people.
No it goes
act - act - act ow when did my back break
Yeah I could see that
Oh man I cant believe I forgot to mention Adam Savage, that dude is a legend of a role model. He uploads to youtube nearly daily
I think this should be higher up in this thread lol
Also, sleep, diet, exercise.
I’ve been getting into that the past year or so and I wish somebody told me sooner that if you get this basics right, you essentially become a 10x better version of yourself in everything lol
Yeah this is the most best advice in this context tbh. Sometimes it is helpful to meet people where they are too which is often doing things targeted to men.
I think too many people treat masculinity as specific things. This was a quote I stumbled upon just now.
“Masculinity is not the opposite of femininity, but rather the opposite of boyish immaturity”
Like flowers as a gift for example, everyone can enjoy this, the semantics of how it is enjoyed is different for different people.
“Masculinity is not the opposite of femininity, but rather the opposite of boyish immaturity.”
So I looked into this more and basically Darth is a title given to sith lords, others have had it like Darth tyranus and Darth sidious, but here is the kicker.
Darth Vader’s fatherhood was only conceived of after the character was introduced in empire strikes back, so the name was not necessarily related to fatherhood in the story and the only reason I could think of for it existing is just because it sounded cool.
A possible reason could be that Darth is a combo of dark and death and Vader is possibly short for invader.
Otherwise I’m not sure if there is any clear reason for the name that is undeniably the reason for the name.
