  • Mostly right except for aluminum and maybe PET #1 plastics. Glass should be washed and the bottles reused. It would be informative to the average person if it said “plastic, not recyclable “ so that people know for everything except PET.

What makes aluminum cans so unique is that they are often recycled back into themselves, containing nearly 70% recycled material. That is 3 times more than plastic or glass. This translates into the can’s leaving a good environmental footprint. It also has a high value for re-selling, making recycling programs possible. Scrap aluminum gets $1367 per ton, as compared to plastic that only gets $310, and glass actually gets $0 per ton. Cans are also getting lighter, while continuing to stay durable. This leads to better efficiency for shipping, and eventually less waste.

  • I own a tesla model y and am already looking at replacing it. Vandalizing my car won’t help me replace it. I am also never going to buy another tesla again. I would have loved a Rivian but their suv was 15k more without the super charging network.

The Elon Nazi salute didn’t happen until January 20th so 99% of tesla owners didn’t know he was a nazi when purchasing their cars.

Considering almost all car companies were caught up in the emissions scandals, I am pretty sure most people vandalizing other people’s cars, own a car from a car company that destroyed the environment for profits. It isn’t that easy to avoid companies that do shitty things.

Not advocating vandalism but tesla dealerships and showrooms make more sense as a target than individual owners.

  • I also had a similar experience with bazzite and ubuntu.
Apps would look like they installed but they are nowhere. Tried the app store. Tried flatpak. It instilled but clicking on the icon wouldn’t launch anything. Ended up with two icons for the same app. One works one doesn’t. No easy way to uninstall non working app.

Bazzite bluetooth stopped working after update. Had to run two commands found on the Bazzite forum to get it to work again. Steam wouldn’t update either. Had to run another command I found on the forum to get it to update.

This is all last week. I am still running both but I wouldn’t call it ready for the non-IT user.

The App Store has to work consistently for it to be accessible for the average person.

I think people don’t understand the difference between a point, a service game, a set, and a match. One point isn’t crazy. She could just double fault or she can miss hit it. Serena had 56 unforced errors in one match against Wang Qiang. On her bad days, this is definitely possible. However, a service game is extremely unlikely. Winning a service game is what is needed to get on the scoreboard. I think the question is most likely poorly worded and means a service game.

That being said, it is crazy if a person with no or little tennis experience thinks they can get a point off of her without her actually making a mistake.

  • They may learn through suffering. The problem with Trump’s first term is that people like her did feel much. He set back climate policy, destroyed alliances, dramatically increased the deficit, and lost more. However, none of that cause her any pain so she kept voting for him. She isn’t wrong about the Dems abandoning her. She just thought the other side was somehow better. Now hopefully she will learn. Unfortunately, there are going to be lots of people that are going to be harmed for the next 4 years for her to learn this lesson.

If she wants empathy, she should try to empathize with the people she hurt and is hurting with her vote. She only seems to think of herself while asking others to be empathetic.

  • Fastmail is a good non US alternative. Based in Australia.

For those that don’t know about Proton. Proton CEO said “10 years ago, Republicans were the party of big business and Dems stood for the little guys, but today the tables have completely turned.” The company then doubled down on a Reddit post which it eventually deleted.

You have to be blind or a liar to look at what the Republicans have done in the last 10 years and think they pro little guy.

Despite claiming political neutrality, Proton later issued a statement reiterating its support for stronger antitrust measures, particularly against Big Tech. The company noted that regardless of broader political views on the Republican platform, the appointment of Gail Slater as head of the Justice Department’s antitrust division under Donald Trump was a positive step.

So they don’t care how bad the government is as long as it helps them. So not a Nazi but willing to support them if they can get something out of it. Furthermore it is also not true. The US under Trump has threatened Europe multiple times to defend big Tech.

Proton further argued that major tech companies were attempting to align with Trump because his administration posed an “unprecedented challenge to their monopolistic dominance.” This statement only fueled concerns that Proton was leaning politically despite its claims of neutrality.

They don’t seem to understand what politically neutral is. Also if you wanted a president that went after big tech, Biden did way more than Trump:

Under President Biden, the DOJ and FTC have taken a more aggressive approach to antitrust enforcement.

The Justice Department filed another suit against Google over its dominance in the advertising technology space and sued Apple for allegedly monopolizing the smartphone market.

Biden’s FTC also sued Amazon for antitrust violations, accusing the e-commerce giant of engaging in anticompetitive behavior to dominate the online retail space.

Proton also lied about logging user data.

In 2021, Proton Mail admitted to handing over a user’s IP address to Swiss authorities following a request from French law enforcement via Europol. This revelation contradicted Proton’s earlier claims that it did not log user data.

  • This is stupid. If you are going to vandalize a car for ideological reasons at least pick one you know what the person is thinking. Not every Tesla driver agrees with Musk. Most actually do not. There are plenty of jacked up MAGA trucks with hate stickers that can be vandalized if you insist on vandalizing a vehicle.

IOS 18.3 has starlink connectivity so don’t forget to destroy all the iphones you see. Clearly all those iphone users support Musk.

  • Another theory is that he might have thought it would accelerate the right leaning movement by killing or wounding Trump. It is also possible he liked the movement but not Trump.

Theories 1 and 2 don’t make any sense. Trump has too much of an ego for 1 and 2 would be weird. If you aren’t going after Trump, anyone else would be easier to shoot when not next to Trump.

  • Unfortunately, that isn’t quite right for guys. Skinny, straight, relaxed…. All these types changes the fit and sizing. I wear one waist size larger for skinny.

Women’s are much worse sizing wise but the difference is that guys jeans generally just look acceptable . When a woman gets jeans that fit her correctly, they can look amazing. I doubt guys ever get compliments on the fit of their jeans.

For women, they could use 6- measurements to standardize it but unfortunately a lot of people fall for vanity sizing and don’t want to accept that they gained weight.

It happens for guys clothing too. If it is a letter based sizing there are huge variations in sizing between clothing companies. For high end brands I wear a large, at Walmart or other box stores, I wear a small.

  • You are correct about legalization. However, having it as a schedule 1 drug severely limits the testing that can be done with it. Schedule 1 drugs are seen as drugs with no medical value therefore there is no need to work with them for medical purposes. It is the same reason marijuana isn’t legal. You can’t really test with it but people would point to it not having any long term studies as the reason it is not legal. It is a circular argument used by conservatives and liberals that are endorsed by pharmaceutical companies. The scheduling of drugs was politicized by Reagan to surppress the liberal movements that grew in the 60s and 70s.
