2·2 years agoWorld of Horror. Lovecraftian point and click adventure-roguelike-card-game. 2 bit graphics, but looks and plays fantastic!
I can personally recommend Arco Linux as a great system to learn Arch. They have thousands of YouTube videos on various topics and a great forum for help. Biggest drawback is their website which can be a bit hard to navigate.

Played this game very much back in the day. Very good game and shooter. Saw a video some time ago with this new engine, super impressive.
Personally I have to thank Steam for their commitment for gaming on Linux. Without I would not have been able to make the switch fully.
Second this, great game! One of the best modern traditional roguelike games right now.
Debian 12 have been rock solid for me. Use it for gaming with my Nvidia card and the driver installation have been painless and easy. Mainly been using it as a normal desktop using Gnome and gaming with Steam.
Was previously running Arch based distribution ArcoLinux, but was getting tired of the updating maintenance and config file conflicts.
Debian is just stable and a few updates a week. Flatpak fixes the old packages that repository have for those applications I just “need”.
39·2 years agoWhat really got me in this great list was Avatar franchise only made it to Avatar 5 in all those years! 😂
I’ve just started playing Etrian Odyssey 1 and been liking it a whole bunch. And have ignited a general interest in this genre of games, I normally play lots of different Traditional Roguelikes (not lite) and find many of the game mechanics the same / interesting.
Does any have recommendations for other First-person Dungeon Crawlers?
Been looking into the original Wizardry series and new game in early access: Wizardry: The Five Ordeals.

1·2 years agoLong time Mastodon user and enjoyed it very much since I left Twitter. Much more engaging and easier for me to follow likeminded users. I also learned about the fediverse and feel it is more important that ever to have these alternatives.

I’ve been running Arco Linux just up till now and have switched to the new Debian 12 release. It have not been to much trouble to get my Nvidia card and Steam running. I mainly switch because of all the updates and “maintenance” that I feel is associated with a Arch system, so kinda like you said.
Big Alien franchises fan (mainly movies). This game looks most like what I want to see and play. Can’t wait to play it.

Steam Deck is so good for these kind of games. Also having a look at Sea of Stars, looks pretty cool.
Been very addictive to traditional roguelikes for some time now. Enjoy the learning and mastering experience.
