@JackbyDev @turip Problem with insulation is that there isn’t a good way to retrofit old buildings with it without mold building up, as old buildings were designed to breathe.

@turip Trees, trees, and public transit. And yeah, passive solar, underground trenches the Amish use. And drinking water isn’t going to fix it. There will be parts of the world where the wet-bulb temperature will literally be unlivable and will require ACs. People are also more stupid and violent when they overheat.

@informapirata @_elena Good to know, ive never been much of a reddit user, but ill keep that in mind if i try lemmy. I wonder what her instances version is. If it’s the same as ours i will want to know what is different in the setup.
Im running the dev version on mine in a sandbox i have under the name flocktogether.social where i hope to build a toolkit for sustainable community. Think meetup/okcupid but with a lot of community building info from cohousing and anarchist communities. If you have php skills and are interested in helping hit me up. Im 100% self taught(past classes in basic, c++ and java). Until i get it 70-80% complete i don’t feel like i can try to bring in some of the other folks that might be interested in helping

@_elena You said that informapirata said that friendica and lemmy worked great together? Do you know what their instances are? I want to know what’s different. Also do you know what version of friendica you are using? Interoperability is the point of friendica and they may just be behind or your version is behind. The latest version is 2024.03, though 2024.06RC is out and has been in the debug mode limbo for several months now. Its got a lot of cool news features i can’t wait to go full and get my instance updated to. A big one will be sorting your contacts easier into circles

@Provider I miss how people have lost the art of self-curation. Those of us who remember took to the fediverse like a duck to water. People who don’t have that skill hate it here.
