  • Soooo Elantris is by far my least favorite cosmere book. To me it seems like B. Sando Sanderson is still finding his voice and style. I did every other cosmere book and came back to Elantris when I had nothing else, sometime after the release of Words of Radiance.

You don’t need to know anything from Elantis for any other book to make sense. There’s some behind the scenes stuff in Elantis that is worth knowing for future speculation about where B. Money is going with it all. But it’s also stuff that you probably won’t understand without a second reading or having read a lot of other cosmere already.

I’d say read everything else you’d like to first and circle back when you are ready. Stormlight archive is my favorite. Aramcum Unbound is also one i keep coming back to - but be very careful of spoilers with that one!

Personally I think Warbreaker is way more essential than Elantris. And I think those are Brando Sando’s weakest.

The whole article seems to say that because voter fraud exists and that there is a preception amoung conservative voters that elections are rigged that voting is pointless.

And then these folks that didn’t vote because “it’s rigged” will lose fairly and scream that it’s rigged.

This article supports this odd mindset and is unhelpful to maintaining a healthy democracy.

We don’t need two sides looking for a reason to claim fraud every time they lose. We need to encourage everyone to vote and have confidence that their vote matters. How we get back to that place I have no idea. But this article does not help.

They frame voter fraud as a widespread thing happening everywhere, but their own source link in the article says 1500 proven voter fraud, 1200 something convictions - which is a small fraction of the whole.

They fear monger about immigrants and undocumented voting but I’ve yet to actually see a real source that says this has happened and is happening on a large scale.

The whole thing is fear mongering fraudulent elections but there’s no proof that happened at a scale large enough to actually influence the result in 2016 2020 or 2024.

  • I got our oil removed and heat pumps installed through masssave last fall.

I ended up getting 5 quotes that varies from $20k-50k. Two of the installers wanted to do ducted systems and eventually we ended up around $30k with a good installer.

We paid the 10k as a down payment in November. Got the 0% interest loan about $150/month. We just got the rebate check in the mail. And 150/mo plus the new electric rate is still cheaper than oil. Long term I’m hoping it will pay for itself.

  • Ehhh he’s fairly spot on. When I didn’t have insurance I had to go to the ER or try to find a doc that would write a prescription “under the table” - which never went well. No urgent care would see me.

Now that I have insurance I’ve only been to the ER for a real emergency once.

Still going to the ER with insurance wiped out my savings though, so I don’t really see all that much difference.
