  • The IDF‘s Military Advocate General‘s Corps investigates pretty thoroughly and publishes the results. You can see those for Cast Lead here for example.

Their statement on the current war in Gaza is shorter.

Since the beginning of the current conflict, the MAG has ordered the launching of 74 criminal investigations regarding incidents that raised suspicion of criminal misconduct. Those include 44 criminal investigations concerning the death of detainees held by IDF (according to IDF’s long-standing policy, a criminal investigation is launched immediately regarding detainees’ death); 8 criminal investigations concerning alleged detainee mistreatment; 3 criminal investigations concerning alleged destruction of civilian property without military necessity; 13 criminal investigations concerning alleged pillaging or stealing of enemy ammunition found in Gaza; and 6 criminal investigations concerning alleged illegal use of force.

The current conflict is unprecedented in its intensity, scope and length, and the IDF has operated extensively through its course. Out of all the IDF’s extensive operational activity, more than a thousand incidents were identified as incidents that require factual assessment and were referred to the FFA Mechanism. Those incidents include, inter alia, incidents in which infrastructure and workers of aid organizations were allegedly harmed; incidents in which shelters were allegedly harmed; incidents in which critical infrastructure was allegedly damaged; incidents in which civilians were allegedly harmed; and incidents in which medical facilities and personal were allegedly harmed. So far, the FFA Mechanism has been collecting relevant material and documentation on hundreds of incidents in the context of the current war

    Investigations take a while.

A press officer denying or deflecting early on simply doesn’t know yet what happened.

  • Trump is the one with the biggest influence, but he won’t do anything. Resistance against Trump in the is weak.

Israelis might be able to replace Netanyahu. The protests in the streets and the rifts in government, see head of Shin Bet, are getting stronger. So supporting those Israelis opposed to him is sensible.

Supporting Palestinians opposed to Hamas makes sense as well. If Hamas let the hostages go and lay down their arms, the war would end. That’s what PA President Abbas demands for example. There are protests in Gaza as well.

Cheering on the armed resistance only gets more Palestinians killed.

  • This is nothing close to the Holocaust.

Many Gazans died, more than 50 thousand, but millions are still alive. The number of dead has only been slowly increasing for many months now. Killing as many people as possible is not the goal or there would have been half a million dead already more than a year ago.

Even the article you write this comment under is about the destruction of houses, not people. According to the article the destruction of houses has a clear goal, enabling tighter control and permanent occupation of the area. Clearing corridors and building infrastructure for control would not be necessary, if they didn’t expect a (hostile) population in the area for years to come.

I worked on a project for Rheinmetall for a bit and feel just fine about it. I would never work in advertising though. What a disgusting industry that destroys minds and societies.

I would still prefer defense industry over advertising or fossil fuels for example.
