Welcome!
Welcome!
It’s on my To Read list but I haven’t gotten there yet.
Also I’m from Kbin.social. Please don’t defederate us. I’m only that mod from a few small magazines. I have no power but I don’t want to defederate you.
What if I prefer nachos to tacos? Can I still eat my nachos with all the taco filling as toppings??
I love the Justins! I hope they are just the tip of the iceberg with young politicians!
I’m on Kbin and see it just fine!
I use the same script! Its very nice to see which instance a user is on and the community/mag is on. I love how they can all be different and it just works. It’s already feeling very natural.
Thanks for the heads up. I only have this one pot and a variety of other herbs and plants so hopefully I won’t hurt the poor bees.
I say go for it! Every community or magazine has to start with one person. Might as well be you.
It is incredibly seamless. This post appears to me as a native Kbin post would.
I’ll have to give it some time and see how things shake out. There are some growing pains with the Fediverse but I’d love a Goodreads alternative.
Great idea as far as I’m concerned.
I completely get what you’re saying and agree with a lot of it. Kbin isn’t and shouldn’t be Reddit but there is a certain amount of user interface tweaking and terminology clarification that needs to be done.
Checkout this link for a user script that helps to fix some of the inconveniences you listed while waiting for official fixes. It’s not my script but works well for me.

Can we interact with BookWyrm from kbin.social?
That’s very helpful and makes sense. Thanks!
Hopefully we can add that to @ernest’s ridiculously long and ever growing feature request list.
Same error for me. Another bug that I’m sure @ernest will squash in time. If you click “All magazines” in the top right you can still search for those. Obviously not as helpful as the full search but it’s something.
It’s definitely an interesting concept but then you have to define what constitutes a “duplicated” community. Do they have to share the exact same name? What if they are functionally duplicates but have different names (fediverse v fedi-verse)? What would happen if “trees” on Kbin is about actually trees but on a Lemmy instance it’s about weed?
I don’t have answers just questions. But I do like the idea of being able to abstract the instance that a community/magazines lives on one step further and make the topic the important part.
I love Trader Joe’s pot stickers!
