There is no point to consoles anymore. It used to be that consoles were easy to use and cheaper while PCs were more expensive and complex. That is no longer the case. Computers are stupid easy now and consoles have become too expensive. Nintendo excluded they are the only ones doing old console case where it is for children.

Unpopular opinion but I think the bible should be taught in schools not as indoctrination but discussed and covered. It really is a foundational document of Western Civilization.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•"influencers" are setting us back
1·4 days agoIt’s only going to get worst. I am already seeing those at work double check anything you say against an LLM and they come back with some version of well ChatGPT says… They don’t realize how much of a sycophant LLMs can be and if you ask a question a certain way it will just agree with you and find some kind of BS data to back you up.
Healthcare plays a big part. If we had socialized medicine people would feel much more comfortable moving jobs.

The constitution is just words on a paper without the threat of the people to back it up. It’s up to all of us to keep the rights we can defend.

World News@lemmy.world•Trump says it may never be known who was at fault for strike on girls' school in IranEnglish
11·8 days agoThe buck stops at the white house. That is what good leadership looks like but I digress. The truth is that this school was selected by a mix of AI/Palantir Generated target list and just went to human eyes for a checkbox to launch the strikes. Nobody really looked into the fact that the target became a girls school. Years ago it was a military target which is why it likely got pulled into the list. They mentioned that it used to be military related on Aljazeera News. So AI SLOP STRIKE.

21·18 days agoWhat is the point of automation and mass production when the prices of certain basic staples keeps going up? You are really going to tell me we can’t get a loaf of bread down to 1 dollar?
Donnie’s redeemable quality has been that everything we thought corrupt officials were doing behind closed doors has been proven true and is now done right in front of our faces.

I have seriously considered just getting a small pc to just run as an emulator with a a few thousand arcade and old school console games and call it done. It would be more fun.
